On September 30-October 01, 2022, the IX International Scientific and Practical Forum "Innovative Technologies in Respiratory Medicine" was held, organized jointly by the Department of Internal Diseases with the course of Nephrology, Hematology, Allergology and Immunology of Astana Medical University, the Association of Respiratory Medicine Specialists with the support of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

This event, which has already become traditional for many years, is the most significant in the field of pulmonology and respiratory medicine. From year to year, it gathers leading domestic and foreign specialists in various fields, united by a common goal – the exchange of information, experience and achievements in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases of the bronchopulmonary system.

The forum was attended offline by about 400 doctors of various specialties, including pulmonologists, somnologists, therapists, pediatricians, doctors of general practice, otolaryngologists, phthisiologists, thoracic surgeons, cardiologists, resuscitators, allergologists, pharmacologists, rehabilitologists, health care organizers. More than 4,200 doctors from all regions of Kazakhstan were connected in the online format.

The forum was attended by both Kazakhstan's and foreign leading experts. 14 symposiums, 6 master classes, a competition of young scientists were held. Educational schools (workshops) were in great demand, where doctors were able to analyze in detail the theoretical and practical issues of the most relevant respiratory areas. Following the results of the forum, all listeners received an electronic certificate, offline WorkShop participants received additional educational certificates.

The situation of respiratory diseases, the interaction of pulmonological, thoracic, phthisiological, infectious services of the Republic of Kazakhstan is analyzed. The stages, results and further measures for inclusion in the "Roadmap for improving the pulmonological service in the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2022-2024" were discussed. A resolution was discussed and signed with proposals to improve the quality of specialized respiratory care to the population of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The holding of this forum is an important event of the national pulmonology and related branches of medicine, makes a significant contribution to the education of medical professionals, and especially young professionals just starting their professional activities, and also contributes for improving the care of patients with bronchopulmonary diseases in the Republic of Kazakhstan, provides incentives for further scientific and practical cooperation.
