The university’s teachers and staff attended the annual Rector’s Cup table tennis competition, initiated by the Centre for Social and Educational Work. According to the results of the men's tournament, the winner was Kanjil Shakirt, a lecturer at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. The second place won Shalkar Azamat, a lecturer at the Department of Oncology. Abay Makishev, head of the Oncology Department, a teacher at our university, completed the top three.

The winner among the girls was Gulnora Imammalieva, an employee of the Research Institute of Preventive Medicine. Second place went to Aybarsha Yeseyeva, another employee of the Research Institute, and third place to Lyazzat Turar, an employee of the Human Resources Department.

And at the Astana Mixed Martial Arts Championship, Zhasurbek Khamraev, another talented student from our university, won a silver medal in the adult category. He competed in the 61kg weight category and only lost on points to a more experienced opponent in the final bout. However, the student of the Faculty of General Medicine is not going to rest on his laurels.

AMU students also came out on top at the capital's championship in draughts. Students from the Faculty of General Medicine, Nuradil Gizatov and Balausa Beisen, came third in the competition that brought together the capital's youth.
