Today, May 15, 2024, in honor of the 60th anniversary of Astana Medical University, the training course «International educational program on the epidemiology of chronic non-infectious diseases» was launched, organized by the Research Institute of Preventive Medicine named after Academician Y.D. Dalenov. This course provides a unique opportunity for healthcare professionals, researchers and young scientists to develop knowledge in key aspects of epidemiology and biostatistics.

The course is designed to introduce participants to the basic principles of chronic noncommunicable disease (CNCD) epidemiology and biostatistics. It allows us to study the causes of diseases and the structure of population health at the global level. The course syllabus includes a discussion of key terminology such as prevalence, morbidity, and mortality, as well as research methods, data acquisition, and statistical approaches for evaluating results.

The seminar examines modern approaches to epidemiological research and methods of data analysis and interpretation. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the latest advances in the diagnosis, prevention and management of chronic non-communicable diseases. Epidemiology and biostatistics provide important tools for evaluating and optimizing evidence-based health care strategies.

The course program is rich in lectures from leading experts, practical sessions, case discussions and master classes. These events will not only help participants master theoretical material, but also learn to apply it in their daily practice. Emphasis is placed on critical analysis of published research, understanding research design, and developing and executing one's own research projects.
