Aims
To prepare future doctors in the main theoretical aspects of obstetrics, gynecology and pediatric gynecology, to develop students' clinical thinking, the ability to apply the acquired knowledge in practice, to develop skills in clinical pathology, to master the methods of rational management of pregnant women, women in labor, postpartum women, newborns and gynecological patients, methods of delivery, rational therapy and emergency care.
History of creation
The Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology was opened at the Tselinograd State Medical Institute by order of the Ministry of Health of the USSR in August 1967.
The duties of the head of the chair were performed by Ph.D. in Medicine G. Zabirova.
The first head of the chair was docent S. Pollak (1969-1974).
In subsequent years, the chaur was headed by K. Malevich (1975-1978), O. Shishkin (1978-1979), R. Ivashevskaya (1979-1982), A. Turintsev (1982-1992), K. Kulbaeva (1997-2001), G. Akhmedyanova (from 1992 to 2019), Z. Khamidullin (currently).
Activity
The Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology is an educational and scientific structural subdivision of the University, which ensures the implementation of the educational process, methodological, educational, research, clinical, innovative and other activities arising from the aims and objectives of the University.
The main directions of the scientific work of the department are the protection of the reproductive health of women, children and adolescents: "Maternal and perinatal mortality and factors that determine them in the region of Northern Kazakhstan"; "Purulent-septic diseases in obstetrics and surgery"; "Prediction and prevention of bacterial infection in obstetrics", "Safe motherhood" by using modern methods of reproductive technologies.
Achivments
The Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology is actively developing external relations with partners of the University of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, educational authorities, with Republican educational institutions and organizations in order to provide scientific and methodological assistance. Students of the Faculty of General Medicine took part in the 1st International Olympiad in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Novosibirsk, Russia, won the Grand Prix in April 2012 under the leadership of G. Akhmedyanova, Z. Gabdilyashimova, A. Myrzabekova.
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology No. 1 held the I Student Olympiad in Obstetrics and Gynecology among students of the IV course "General Medicine" in the 2012-2013 academic year.
The Chair held an international scientific and practical conference "A multidisciplinary approach in the provision of obstetric and gynecological care at the outpatient stage" on November, 27 2021 year. Conference was in mixed regimen: online and offline where were participate the leading professors of the obstetrics and reproductive systems.
In 2022, on December 9-10, it is planned to hold the II Congress with international participation: "A multidisciplinary approach in the provision of obstetric and gynecological care", with the involvement of international experts.
Since 2021, primary health care doctors in Astana have been trained in obstetrics and gynecology. Training is carried out in polyclinics with consultation of high-risk patients and analysis of patients' medical records to develop a further management plan.
Chair assistant A. Baubekova passed an internship under the program of JSC "Bolashaq" in the specialty: "Obstetrics and Gynecology 137T" from 07/09/2015 to 03/12/2015 in the Specialized Women's Clinic Cheil - Seoul, Republic of Korea, Gangnam Severance Medical Center at Yonse University - Seoul, Republic of Korea. Participated in the consortium on mobility in higher education MNursE 2015-2019 (the cities of Lahti, Khamenlina, Jyväskyle) according to the project of the road map "Kazakhstan-Finnish modern education" from 07/30/2017 to 11/18/2017.
The teachers of the chair were trained in practical skills in foreign countries: A. Myrzabekova, Zh. Azhetova – Israel; T. Galitskaya, A. Myrzabekova – Turkey; Z. Gabdilyashimova - Japan, the UK.
Residents 3 years A. Musina and S. Ramazanova under the guidance of the head of the department Z. Khamidullina launched the Healthy Generation project, which aims to introduce sex education in schools, reduce the number of abortions and childbirth among minors.
In May 2021 was organized an online journal club by Associate Professor of the Department A. Marat together with resident K. Tazhibayeva in which take a part residents, undergraduates and doctoral students from all medical universities of Kazakhstan.
Residents of the department 2 years of study K. Tazhibayeva, A. Samatova participate in scientific projects with Nazarbayev University on the topics: “Clinical and diagnostic features of COVID-19 in Nur-Sultan” and “Coronavirus infection and pregnancy” together with Professor Antonio Sario Sail Mero (Spain).
Under the leadership of Department Z. Khamidullina a joint project was launched with doctors from Uzbekistan and China on the topic: “Retrospective analysis of patients with congenital clubfoot”.
Residents of the department 1, 2 years of study participate in a scientific project with Nazarbayev University on the topic: “Clinical and diagnostic features of COVID-19 in Nur-Sultan” together with Professor Antonio Sario Sail Mero (Spain).
During the educational process, the department practices the exchange of students, undergraduates on academic mobility with foreign and Kazakhstan (Almaty, Semey, Karaganda) partners.
Over the past 3 years, 4th year students of the specialty "General Medicine" and undergraduates have been trained in mobility in the Republic of Belarus, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Poland under the supervision of associate professors of the department A. Shamova, T. Galitskaya.
Resident of the 2nd year of study A. Omarbekova completed a scientific internship on academic mobility at the Russian Research University. N.I. Pirogov, Moscow in 2021.
Every year, science group students, as well as undergraduates and assistants of the department, win prizes at scientific and practical conferences of students and young scientists with international participation.
