Every doctor somehow was a school student and in his or her young years made a decisive decision to become a doctor. Being aware about how difficult is to choose a future profession, our university is always open to schoolchildren who are thinking about the most important step in their lives, and helps them in career guidance. On 15 March school students of school-lyceum № 73 of Astana city have visited NpJSC «Astana Medical University».

The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the «Astana Medical University» and to learn about the admission rules and educational programmes, requirements for applicants and students. The meeting was organised and conducted by the staff of the Department of Pathological Physiology named after V.G.Korpachev.

By the way, both at the university and at the department there is an extensive Plan of educational work for the academic year 2023-2024, which provides for systematic career guidance work with schoolchildren.

Together with the teacher of the department Tokhaeva M.B. future applicants visited the Museum, where they got acquainted with the history, achievements and prospects of development of our university. Moreover, for school students was conducted a tour of classes and laboratories of the educational and clinical centre.

At the department the children talked to the head of the department, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor D.S.Tazhibayeva, who told in detail about the training at the department and its traditions. The schoolchildren were particularly interested in information about various Olympiads in medical disciplines and students' participation in scientific circles, medical conferences and seminars.

During the meeting, students asked many questions about entering our university, details of preparation, heard the wishes and advice of teachers.

At the end, the school leavers received booklets with information about the university, the teachers of the department wished them a successful UNT exam and recommended them to choose AMU, the flagship university, if they want to connect their lives with medicine.
