Turmukhambetova Anar Akylbekovna graduated from the Karaganda State Medical Institute in 1992, Doctor of Medical Sciences.
After completing her clinical residency at the Department of Hospital Therapy of KSMI in 1994, she continued her scientific and pedagogical activity as an assistant at the Department of Internal Medicine.
In 1999, she defended her PhD thesis in the specialty "Radiation Diagnostics, Radiation Therapy".
Since 2000, she worked as a doctor of ultrasound and functional diagnostics at the National Laboratory of the University "Polyclinic No. 2" in Karaganda.
Since 2002, she headed the Department of Radiation Diagnostics of the Faculty of Continuing Medical Education of the Kazakh State Medical Academy; Astana; Senior Researcher, Department of Radiation Diagnostics, Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics, Astana.
Since 2007, she headed the Department of Radiation Diagnostics and Nuclear Medicine, Republican Diagnostic Center, Astana.
From 2010 to 2012, she worked as an academic secretary at the Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics.
Since September 2012 - Vice-Rector for Research, KMU.
From 2016 to 2019, she was Vice-Rector for Strategic Development, Science and International Cooperation, KSMU.
Since 2019, she worked as Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and Science, NAO MUK.
Since 2022, she held the position of Chairman of the Board - Rector, NAO Karaganda Medical University.
Studied at Columbia University (USA) in research management in 2007. Since then, she has been actively implementing international research standards in healthcare.
She lectures on clinical epidemiology and biostatistics at the Republican Center for Healthcare Development, Astana Medical University. Participates in scientific expertise of scientific and technical programs and projects. Studied at the European School of Radiology (Graz, Austria).
In 2010, she defended her doctoral dissertation in the specialty "Radiation Diagnostics, Radiation Therapy".
A. Turmukhambetova has been conducting research in the field of osteoporosis and applied aspects of using radiation diagnostics in clinical practice for many years.
She is the author of 2 monographs and 1 textbook, 4 patents, 206 scientific publications, 41 of which are included in the Scopus and Web of Science databases. Member of the European Society of Radiologists, the Association of X-ray Radiologists of Kazakhstan.
For her services in the field of development of medicine and medical science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, she was awarded the badges "Excellent Healthcare Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan", "Higher Education in the Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan", and certificates of honor of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Graduated from Siberian State Medical University (Tomsk) in 2006 with a «biochemists» degree. Candidate of Medical Sciences, Professor. Hirsch Index – 11. Author of over 100 scientific articles, including 50 publications in high-impact international journals (Scopus/Web of Science), holder of 15 patents, and author of 2 monographs.
From 2006 to 2009, pursued full-time postgraduate studies at Siberian State Medical University. She was discharged from the program ahead of schedule due to the early successful defense of her Candidate’s Dissertation in the specialty «Pharmacology, Clinical Pharmacology».
Since 2009 — Senior Researcher, and from 2010 to 2013 — Head of the Laboratory of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology at the International Scientific and Production Holding «Phytochemistry» (Karaganda).
From 2013 to 2015, worked as Senior Researcher at the Life Sciences Center of Nazarbayev University (Astana).
From 2015 to 2023 — Head of the Laboratory of Toxicology and Pharmacology at the National Center for Biotechnology (Astana).
Since 2018 — Leading Researcher at LLP «Victus Pharm», where she leads grant projects on commercialization and scientific research.
In 2023–2024 — Senior Researcher at National Laboratory Astana, Nazarbayev University.
Since 2024 — specialist in the department of gerontology, geriatrics, and anti-aging Medicine at the institute of innovative and preventive medicine.
Professor Shulgau is an expert in the fields of experimental and clinical pharmacology, pharmacotoxicology, anti-aging medicine, and biopharmaceutics. She has 20 years of research experience, including laboratory leadership, participation in international scientific collaborations, implementation of interdisciplinary projects, and development of innovative solutions in biomedicine.
Under her leadership, scientific grants are being implemented in key areas: gerontology, pulmonary fibrosis, cellular aging, and the development of plant-derived exosome-like nanoparticles.
She is a laureate of the Karaganda region Akim’s prize for young scientists in the field of «Medicine and biotechnology», a two-time recipient of the state scientific scholarship for talented young scientists, and a laureate of the K. I. Satpayev Prize.

Since 1996, he began his academic and teaching career as a trainee instructor at the Department of Hospital Surgery of TSMI.
In 2000, he defended his dissertation for the academic degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences in the specialty «Surgery».
From 2001 to 2004 — Associate Professor at the Department of Surgical Diseases No. 1 of Akmola State Medical Academy.
In 2004 — Associate Professor at the Department of Surgery of the Faculty for Advanced Training of Physicians, Akmola State Medical Academy.
From 2005 to 2009 — Associate Professor at the Department of Faculty Surgery with a course in Urology, Kazakh State Medical Academy.
In 2006, he defended his doctoral dissertation and was awarded the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences in the specialty «Surgery».
From 2009 to 2010 — Professor at the Department of Surgical Diseases No. 3 of Astana Medical University.

PhD, Associate Professor, Pediatrician, Pediatric Surgeon of the Highest Category
Graduated from the Kazakh State Medical Academy (Astana) in 2006 with a degree in Pediatrics. From 2007 to 2010, she completed an internship and residency in Pediatric Surgery.
She began her professional career in 2008 at the Municipal State Enterprise under the Right of Economic Management “City Children’s Hospital No. 2 of Astana”. From 2012 to 2013, she worked in the Department of Neonatal Surgery at the National Research Center for Maternal and Child Health, JSC (Astana).
From 2013 to 2016, she pursued doctoral studies in the educational program 6D110100 – “Medicine”. She successfully defended her dissertation in 2016 and was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
From 2016 to 2023, she served as an Assistant Professor and later as an Associate Professor at the Department of Pediatric Surgery at Astana Medical Univercity. She was actively engaged in clinical, scientific, and educational activities and was responsible for the department’s academic and methodological development.
Under her leadership, modern educational technologies were introduced into the department’s curriculum, including active learning methods, e-learning, and distance education. She supervised the student scientific club, with her students regularly winning awards at student olympiads and international conferences.
From 2018 to 2022, she participated in the implementation of a scientific initiative project on skeletal dysplasias. She also supervised the successful defense of one PhD dissertation.
From 2023 to 2025, she headed the Center for Planning and Development of Academic Activities of Astana Medical Univercity, overseeing the organization of the educational process, the automation of academic business processes, the implementation of analytical solutions, and the enhancement of educational programs.
Since 2025, she has served as Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at NJSC “Astana Medical University”.
She is the author of 25 scientific publications, including 7 in international peer-reviewed journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, and holds 5 patents and one educational manual. Her Hirsch Index is 3.
