Vaccination is the best protection against infections

At the initiative of the World Health Organization, European Immunization Week is being celebrated from 21 to 27 April 2024. As part of this event, on April 23, 2024 at the Astana Medical University, the teaching staff of the Department of Microbiology and Virology named after. Sh. I. Sarbasova held a round table on the topic “Vaccination: for or against” with the participation of students from group 304 of the School of Pediatrics. In particular, the organizers were candidate of medical sciences, professor Assemova G.D., senior teachers Botbaeva M.T. and Sarsenova A.G-A.

The head of the Department of Microbiology and Virology named after Sh.I. Sarbasova Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Dusmagambetov M.U., Candidate of Biological Sciences, Professor Rakhmetova N.B. and doctoral student, senior teacher Sutimbekova N.S. took part as experts.,

Various aspects of vaccination, its impact on children's health, as well as myths and real facts about vaccines were discussed. Students actively participated in the discussion, sharing their opinions and experiences of working with children. The benefits of vaccination, its role in preventing infectious diseases, and possible side effects were discussed.

As a result of the discussion, the majority of students expressed support for vaccination and recognized its importance for maintaining the health of children. However, opposing views have also been expressed based on personal beliefs and concerns about the safety and effectiveness of vaccines.

The round table was an excellent opportunity for students of the School of Pediatrics to exchange opinions, learn new information and better understand the importance of vaccination in the modern world.
