Management of IT infrastructure and administration of information systems

Objectives

- Formation of a modern IT infrastructure, ensuring a high level of its availability, providing high-quality digital services based on it;

- Improving the quality of medical education based on information and communication technologies;

- Ensuring the security of the information and telecommunications infrastructure;

- Ensuring the smooth functioning of systems and equipment, as well as taking prompt measures to eliminate violations that occur during operation. Modernization of the applied technical means. Monitoring the status of office equipment, computer, server, and network equipment;

- Maintaining the University's local network in a working state;

- Information and communication support for cultural, educational and administrative events held by the University.

Creation history

The office was founded in January 2009. The first head of the department was appointed Aldongar Zhastalap. In 2012, Almaz Maralov became the head of the department. Since 2021, he has been appointed Head of the Department Жеңіс Асығат Аманкелдіұлы.

Activity

- Analysis of the software and hardware state of the University and compilation of a set of applications for the needs of structural divisions in computer and office equipment;
- Ensuring uninterrupted operation of the equipment, taking prompt measures to eliminate problems that arise during the operation of the equipment, if necessary, repairing or organizing maintenance of the equipment by third-party organizations;
- Installation and configuration of software on user workstations;
- Development and implementation of measures to control the use of information technologies, computer equipment, organizational equipment and communication facilities;
- Modernization of the applied technical means;
- Drawing up a list of necessary consumables for the repair of computer equipment;
- Ensuring uninterrupted operation of computer networks and communication and server equipment, which includes:

• development of the LAN cable system;
• operational LAN administration;
• maintenance and upgrade of active network equipment;
• maintenance and modernization of the server fleet;
• improving network reliability and resiliency;
• maintenance of server software and network application programs;
• expanding the list of services provided to network users;
• accumulating information about the network infrastructure and connection scheme;

Achievements

- The total number of computers is 1362 pcs., 7 servers providing Internet connection and functioning of the University's corporate network.

- Students and employees of the medical university have access to all educational information resources.
- Academic buildings of the medical University and student dormitories in 2020 are connected to the Internet via fiber-optic communication lines at a speed of 200 MB/s.
