Center for Work with Foreign Students

Objectives

• Training of foreign students in the bachelor's degree programs of the specialty "General Medicine" and "Dentistry", by organizing the educational process, monitoring, analyzing and monitoring the progress of foreign students assigned to the center;

• Organization of ensuring the quality of education and contribute to improving the life of foreign citizens, enhancing their participation in the public life of the university;

• Training of highly qualified personnel in the field of medicine.

History of creation

In 2017, the Dean's Office for Work with Foreign Students was organized, which implements the strategic plan of the University, in accordance with the program of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Health. Due to the change in the structure of the University, the Dean's office was renamed the center for work with foreign students.

Activities

• Monitoring the progress of foreign students assigned to the center;

• Monitoring of class attendance;

• Analysis of the results of examination sessions;

• Development of proposals to improve the organization of the educational process and contribute to improving the quality of students' education;

• Provision of consulting services on visa invitations for foreign students and teachers;

• Visa processing for foreign students;

• Providing temporary registration at the place of residence of foreign students from neighboring countries, employees, delegations, trainees, teachers and specialists in the Migration Service Department, the Nur-Sultan Police Department;

Achievements

1. For the first time in 2021, 54 foreign students received a bachelor's degree in the specialty "General Medicine" in English at the NCJSC "Astana Medical University". Two of them graduated with honors.

2. On the 30th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a 5th-year student of the specialty "General Medicine" Umar Gani was awarded a letter of gratitude from the Chairman of the Board -Rector K.T. Nadyrov for "Active contribution to science".

3. 3rd year student of the specialty "Dentistry" Al-Maghary Doniia participated in the International Scientific and Practical Conference of Young scientists and students, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and took 1st place. She is also a member of the Academic Council of the University.
