Department of Clinical Psychology

Рurpose

Formation of knowledge and skills on the basic principles of clinical psychology based on modern scientific achievements in the field of psychology, psychotherapy and psychiatry.

History of creation

       The Department of Clinical Psychology is a structural unit of the Astana Medical University (NpJSC) and has been functioning since August 2020.

Activity

The department provides training at three levels: higher and postgraduate education, additional continuing education on the basis of the Faculty of Advanced Training (FPC).

The main activities of the department are:

- organization and conduct of educational, methodological, clinical, educational work, current, intermediate and final control of students' training in accordance with curricula and programs;

- planning and conducting research and innovative technologies;

- development of a strategy for the development of the department in the areas of training, strengthening and development of external relations with employers and educational authorities.

The staff of the department regularly improve their professional and pedagogical competence at courses, seminars, master classes at the university, national, and international levels.

Achievements

The staff of the Department actively participates in the implementation of international and national projects on combating domestic violence in the Committee for the Protection of Children's Rights of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in the development of clinical protocols, standards and NPA at the industry level, WHO, Global Fund, UNICEF, Soros Foundation-Kazakhstan, and are also members of expert and advisory bodies and professional associations in the All-Russian professional psychotherapeutic League, in the Society of pediatric neurologists, neurophysiologists, psychiatrists and psychotherapists, in the Association of Psychologists of the Republic of Kazakhstan, at the International Academy of Psychological Sciences of Russia.
