Chairman of the Regional Social association "Society of infectious diseases doctors".

Led by Dinagul Ayapbekovna, the regional social association "Society of infectious diseases doctors" was created in 2016, which has more than 200 members all over the regions of the Republic today. With society support, the Congress of infectious diseases doctors is realized once every two years with international participation and involvement of leading specialists from abroad.

Dinagul Ayapbekovna is the author of more than 220 scientific works, 5 tutorials and 3 patents.

Staff

History of creation

1967, the Chair of Children's Diseases with Children's Infections was created in the Tselinograd Government Medical Institute (TGMI) at the medical faculty, with the chief of the Chair PhD, Associated Professor Chuchupalov DP.

1980-1981, the pediatric faculty had been opened it TGMI, therefore the Chair of Children's Infectious Diseases was created in 1984, headed by Associate Professor Rudenko NA.

2000, the Chair of Children's Infectious Diseases as a course of children's infections became the part of the Chair of Infectious Diseases with Epidemiology, the Chair chief was PhD, Associate Professor Alshinbayeva GU.

2001, the course of children's infectious diseases became the part of the Chair of Dermatovenereology, headed by PhD, Associate Professor Batpenova GR.

2010, the status of the Chair of children's infectious diseases has been received, the Chair chief doctor of medicine science Baesheva DA.

Currently, the work of the Chair is carried out on three clinical bases:

1. In the Multidisciplinary Children's city Hospital No. 3

2. In the city out-patients’ clinics No. 6 and 10.

Aims

the implementation of educational and pedagogical, therapeutic and diagnostic, preventive, advisory and scientific activities in the field of education and medicine

providing with high-quality training of essential and highly qualified specialists, scientific and pedagogical staffs in the field of medicine with a high level of intellectual, cultural and moral development, in accordance with the existing and prospective requirements of JSC "AMU".

Activity

Educational and pedagogical activity

At the Chair of Children's Infectious Diseases, the students of 4th and interns of 6th courses are studying in the specialty "General Medicine", 7th course in the specialty "Pediatrics", residents in the specialties "Infectious diseases, including children's", "Family Medicine", "Pediatrics".

Practical classes are conducted using innovative teaching methods: "Business-role-playing games and discussions", "Own game", innovative technologies in the form of simulation technologies and clinical scenarios using a standardized robot dummy patient "SimNewBaby" and "PediaSim" with different levels of complexity, the method of "Standardized patient" on the most relevant topics, occurring in the practice of a pediatric infectious disease specialist; as well as interactive and innovative teaching methods are actively used: RBL, PBL, CBL, TBL.

In terms of educational and pedagogical activities, there are also carrying out:        

• realizing the educational programs of the State General and Standard Education in the profile of the Chair;

• developing an intra-Chairal quality system for training specialists; conducting all types of training sessions on the forms of training;

• maintaining an electronic journal of academic performance by the staff of the Chair according to the pedagogical load;

• holding a meeting of the Chair to discuss current and planned issues about educational, methodological, clinical, scientific work of the staff and educational work with students;

• developing the studying program in the disciplines of the Chair;

• implementation of comprehensive educational, organizational and methodological support of the educational process in the profile of the Chair, conducting training and production practices;

• developing the work plans of the Chair and individual work plans of teachers of the Chair;

• implementation of quality control and individual plans of teachers of the Chair and other types of staff’s work.

Research activities

The staff of the Chair of Children's Infectious Diseases of the JSC "AMU" published more than 300 scientific works, including 7 training manuals, received 3 patents for invention, 5 copyright certificates, 20 implementations in practical medicine, there are also 10 publications with a non-zero impact factor. 4 PhD, 5 master's theses were researched, and more than 50 residents have also been trained. In cooperation with the Agrarian and Technical University named after S.Seifullin, were carried out the development and using of genetic engineering and cellular technologies in medicine, agriculture, environmental protection, food and processing industry over 2009-2011. In cooperation with the International Research and Production Holding "Phytochemistry" of Karaganda, the development of new effective medicines from plant raw materials and the organization of their production according to international GMP standards over 2010-2012" were carried out, and with KSMU, the "Studying of the clinical efficiency and safety of the drug "Sausalin" as an anti-giardiasis treatment" was carried out. Also, the staff of the Chair took part in the project "Development of preventive measures for sensorineural hearing loss after bacterial meningitis".

The Chair continues its partnership with the following major research centers for conducting scientific research: JSC "IRPH "Phytochemistry" (Karaganda), National laboratory Astana, Nazarbayev University and National Center of Biotechnology (Astana), Karolinska Medical Institute (Sweden. Stockholm), Ben–Gurion University (Israel).

       Since 2019, the Chair of Pediatric Infectious Diseases has been actively working with the club of young scientists "No. 1 CLUB OF YOUNG SCIENTISTS AND INFECTIOLOGOSTS", within which the work of the scientific circle is carried out, with the annual "Interdisciplinary Conference of Young Scientists", which has become a platform for the exchange of relevant information, the identification and development of the innovative potential of students and the improvement of their creative abilities as young scientists.

Among the other tasks of research work in the Chair are:

• conducting research work at the Chair and testing innovative technologies;

• publication of textbooks, manuals, monographs of republican significance (with the ISBN index); publication of articles in journals with impact factor; publications (articles) in the Republic of Kazakhstan, and in international publications of countries near and far abroad;

• implementation of the results of scientific research in practical healthcare (obtaining safe documents, certificates of implementation in practical healthcare, patents);

• attracting students to research work (SSS, SMU, ongoing research projects); ensuring the publication of students' scientific works, including in international peer-reviewed journals; obtaining security documents with the participation of students; ensuring the participation of students in Olympiads, scientific conferences and competitions of scientific works;

• implementation of training, retraining and advanced training of employees with higher and secondary medical education and scientific and pedagogical workers of higher qualification.

Scientific directions of the Chair

"New methods of treatment of chronic opisthorchiasis", "Differential diagnosis of Children’s community-acquired pneumonia", "Antibiotic resistance, containment strategy", "Children’s Neuroinfections at the present stage", as well as "Children’s Cytomegalovirus infection". Doctoral students, undergraduates, residents and members of the scientific circle of the Chair of Pediatric Infectious Diseases annually take an active part in international scientific and practical conferences for young scientists and students it the JSC "AMU", near and far abroad. The teaching staff of the Chair actively cooperate with colleagues from near and far abroad in the field of pediatric infectology: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Minsk, USA (California), Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands and Israel.

Clinical activity

The staff of the Chair provides extensive medical and advisory assistance to practical healthcare both in Astana and in all regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Every year, the teaching staff of the Chair oversees and advises specialized patients in the Multidisciplinary Children's City Hospital No. 3 in Astana, which is the base of the Chair of Children's Infectious Diseases, and city clinics. The staff of the Chair annually conducts seminars, master classes and scientific and practical conferences at the city and republic levels. Specialists of the Chair within the working group take part in the development of republic clinical protocols with their subsequent protection in the expert commissions of the Republic Center of Healthcare Development and in the Public council of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Chair provides great practical assistance to healthcare in the preventive direction, actively speak on radio and television on issues of vaccination, prevention of acute respiratory viral infections, and healthy lifestyle.

    The staff of the Chair actively participates in the review of case histories conducted on the basis of the Multidisciplinary Children's city Hospital No. 3.

Conducting information and explanatory work among the population of our country on the prevention of infectious diseases in the mass media.

Educational work

The students of supervised groups of teaching staff of the Chair of Children's Infectious Diseases, are studying on the following topics: "Healthy lifestyle without drugs", "Healthy lifestyle, prevention of viral hepatitis B and C", "Prevention of HIV infection", "Healthy lifestyle without smoking". Great attention is paid to the patriotic education of young people, solemn events are held annually: "President's Day", concerts dedicated to "Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan" and "Victory Day".

Progress

• The Chair consists experienced staff of the first and highest qualification categories, able to provide specialized care to specialized patients. The staff of the Chair is ready to provide high quality training for the purchasing of theoretical knowledge and a full range of practical skills in the clinic of children's infectious diseases.

• Highly qualified staff of the Chair: professors, associate professors, assistants, doctors of the highest qualification category, undergraduates, doctoral students.

• The clinical activity of the Chair is carried out under the guidance of two freelance infectious diseases specialists (children and adults) of the Republic: Dinagul Ayapbekovna Baesheva and Bakhyt Nurgalievna Kosherova.

• Monitoring and development of educational programs, educational and methodological complexes of the discipline in accordance with the needs of stakeholders.

• The presence of international relations in the problem of antibiotic resistance with foreign countries (Sweden, India, Israel). International relations in the field of pediatric infectology for the exchange of educational, clinical and scientific activities in the near abroad (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Minsk, Grodno).

• Cooperation with WHO in Kazakhstan and joint training on the simulation course "Advanced emergency care for patients with COVID-19 in serious and critical condition" for medical workers throughout the Republic, as well as continuous improvement of knowledge and skills through training on the Open WHO platform.

• Active cooperation of highly qualified specialists of the Chair with practical healthcare. Organizational and methodological and therapeutic and diagnostic work of the Chair's staff on children's infectious diseases is being conducted on the scale of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

• Academic mobility of undergraduates and doctoral students in Klaipeda, Vilnius (Lithuania) and Tel Aviv (Israel).

• The staff of the Chair of Children's Infectious Diseases of the JSC "AMU" published more than 300 scientific works, including 7 training manuals, received 3 patents for inventions, 5 copyright certificates, 12 implementations in practical medicine, there are 10 publications with a non-zero impact factor.

• All employees of the Chair are members of the Regional Public Association "Society of Infectious Diseases Doctors".
