Dear colleagues!

On April 18-19, 2024, Astana Medical University invites you to take part in the X Republican scientific and practical conferences “Medical, biological and environmental problems in uranium mining regions” with international participation, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Research Institute of Radiobiology and Radiation Protection of NJSC “Astana Medical University”.

The conference is organized by the Research Institute of Radiobiology and Radiation Protection of the NJSC "Astana Medical University".

The conference will be held in a combined format: in the traditional offline form in the act hall of the NAO "Astana Medical University" and online (https://amu2.webex.com/amu2-ru/j.php?MTID=m914a3c4c625efeff587551976bbc8af6).

The working languages of the conference are Kazakh, Russian and English.

The conference will discuss topical issues of the radiobiological effects of low doses of ionizing radiation, the radioecological situation, ensuring the radiation safety of personnel and the health status of the population living in the zone of influence of negative factors of radiation-hazardous facilities.

The topic of the conference:

1. The biological effect of low levels of ionizing radiation

2. Radioecological problems of uranium- and oil-producing regions and territories with man-made-altered radiation background, problems of ensuring radiation safety of professional workers of uranium- and oil-producing enterprises and the population living in the zone of influence of negative factors of radiation-hazardous enterprises.

3. Assessment of the health status of persons exposed to occupational radiation and the population living in territories with a technogenically altered radiation background.

4. Problems of radon safety in uranium and oil-producing regions.

5. Ensuring the radiation safety of personnel and patients exposed to ionizing radiation and the quality of the operational parameters of X-ray diagnostic equipment.
