An integrated and systematic modern approach to higher and continuing vocational education will make it possible to bring the training and retraining of personnel in the field of rehabilitation service and sports medicine into line with the international standard.

With the introduction of compulsory health insurance in 2020 in Kazakhstan, medical rehabilitation has become available to the entire population. Employees of the department took an active part in the preparation of the health care system for medical rehabilitation (in the development of regulatory legal acts, protocols and standards, the development of an automation system, the work of setting tariffs for services). The infrastructure of medical rehabilitation was formed and the network of rehabilitation centers and departments continues to develop.

Currently, the health care system faces a number of tasks: to carry out qualitative changes in the processes in medical and social rehabilitation, to fully implement the ICF, to revise tariffs, protocols and standards, to improve information systems, to improve the quality of the rehabilitation services provided, to staff the rehabilitation service.

It is especially important to conduct scientific research on post-ovarian rehabilitation.

In this regard, in terms of the department's work, the key tasks are personnel training, the development of educational programs, manuals that meet the modern requirements of medical rehabilitation and rehabilitation treatment, providing the acquisition of skills and competencies for students and listeners to provide quality services, participation in scientific research and the development of international cooperation.

In order to implement the tasks set, it is planned to continue the active participation of the department employees in the work of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the issues of rehabilitation and rehabilitation treatment.

In 2021, the implementation of the Roadmap for comprehensive assistance to children with disabilities, approved by the Prime Minister No. 112-r of August 17, 2020, at the initiative of the Commissioner for Children's Rights of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aruzhan Sain, began.

Experts of the department took part in the development of this Roadmap, and leading employees of the department will also be involved in the implementation of a number of activities.

The ultimate goal of this roadmap is to create a model of interagency interaction in helping children with disabilities. Measures are planned to develop an algorithm for interdepartmental interaction, create a system for the selection of technical means of rehabilitation, introduce the ICF, etc.

Based on the results of the implementation of the Roadmap, the department is faced with the task of revising the curriculum in terms of the formation of competencies for interdepartmental interaction, the algorithm for interaction of specialists from different departments in matters of rehabilitation for children. Currently, a plan is being developed for interaction with UNICEF, with the Project Office for the organization of interagency cooperation in providing assistance to children with disabilities.

Also, the department will continue training sports doctors and scientific personnel in the field of sports medicine, as well as research work on topical issues of sports medicine.
