The Eurasian School "Women's Health in Radiology" has started its work at Astana Medical University today.

In recent years, women's health has become an area of medicine where a wide range of scientific research is being implemented, new medical technologies are being actively developed and introduced. It is obvious, because according to the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan, breast cancer (breast cancer) occupies the 1st place in the structure of malignant neoplasms in women (13.2%). On average, up to 5,000 breast cancer patients are diagnosed annually in the country, and up to 1,200 women die.

During the opening, issues of modern diagnosis and treatment of various diseases in women, as well as the introduction of innovations into the practice of medical institutions, were discussed.

In the welcoming speech, Vice–Rector of NAO "AMU" Meruert Gazalieva noted that women's health remains one of the most important medical and social problems of our time not only for Kazakhstan, but also for most countries of the world. She highlighted that 83 radiologists are studying at the university under the residency program, undergraduates and doctoral students traditionally choose this particular direction for their research.
