Opening of the institute 1964
The Tselinograd State Medical Institute was established in 1964
On October 26, 1964, the Central Committee of the Communist Party and the Council of Ministers of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic decided to establish a Medical Institute in the city of Tselinograd, in response to the need to provide medical services to the workers in the Virgin Lands. The first intake consisted of 300 students enrolled in the General Medicine program.
