The «Astana Medical University» NCJSC invites you to take part in the International Scientific and Practical Conference «Astana MedForum 2024: Medicine of the Future - Integration of Science, Education and Practice» dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Astana Medical University, which will be held from September 25 to 27, 2024 in Astana.

The event is part of the plan of scientific and practical activities of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2024.

The Conference will bring together all key stakeholders in the field of healthcare, science and higher education - representatives of the Government and Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ministries and other government authorities and the quasi-public sector, academic leaders and scientists from Kazakhstani and foreign universities and research organizations, leading experts from practical healthcare institutions. This conference aims to discuss global challenges facing the healthcare system, medical education and science, develop recommendation for their solution and define new development horizons in view of technological trends and scientific achievements.

Topics to be discussed at the Conference:

·     New frontiers of university development in the 21st century;

·     Innovations in medicine that change clinical practice;

·     Trends in development of digitalization in healthcare;

·     New horizons in development of education technologies and innovations in medical education;

·     New horizons in development of medical science;

·     New horizons in development of infrastructure and technologies for practical training of healthcare specialists;

·     New horizons in development of social and educational work of the university;

·     New horizons in development of management and digitalization of universities;

·     New horizons for the development of the medical and pharmaceutical industry.

The Conference program will include plenary sessions and panel sessions, a poster session, a commercialization reactor, a forum on digitalization of healthcare, a forum on the development of the medical and pharmaceutical industry, a hackathon on digital transformation of healthcare, a showcase of projects, a forum of young scientists, an exhibition of innovative achievements and digital solutions in health care.

The Organizing Committee accepts oral and poster presentations from academic leaders, scientists and health experts from around the world by e-mail nauka@amu.kz The deadline for submitting applications is August 1, 2024.

Poster reports should be designed according to the requirements in accordance with Appendix 1.

Following the results of the Conference, a special issue of the scientific and practical journal «Astana Medical Journals»will be published. Articles and (or) abstracts must be prepared according to the requirements in accordance with Appendix 2 and submitted before August 1, 2024 through the journal’s website https://medical-journal.kz/. Authors must register on the journal’s website and follow the link to submit the material.

The selection of abstracts and articles for publication will be based on the results of the review.

Appendix 1

Requirements for poster presentations

1. Structure of the poster report;

·                        The title of the poster report (in capital letters, bold type).

·                        Information about the author (authors), initials and surname of the author, place of work (university or organization), city, country.

·                        Relevance (introduction). In the introduction should give a brief and clear statement of the relevance of the issue and the rationale for the study, the purpose and objectives of the study.

·                        Materials and methods of the study. This section should describe the research design and how the study was carried out.

·                        Results. In this section, the main results obtained from this study should be presented in a logical sequence in the text.

·                        Conclusions (conclusion). The conclusions section should summarize the main findings of the study, should address the confirmation of the hypothesis or purpose stated in the study.

2. The language of the poster design is Kazakh, English or Russian.

3. The file should be named with the surname of the first author.

4. The poster should be submitted as one slide in MS PowerPoint program (landscape orientation).

Appendix 2

Requirements for the design of articles and theses

Abstracts are drawn up in Word program using Arial 12 font, 1 spacing, not more than 1 page of A4 format with 2 cm margins on all sides.

Formatting of abstracts:

The title should be formalized in capital letters without abbreviations. The passport part contains the full name of the authors (in English indicate first and last name), as well as the following data of all authors/coauthors: position, place of work, city, country, e-mail address.

The main text of the thesis is typed from the red line.

The thesis should be a message of informational type, containing an introductory part (relevance), the purpose of the study, a specific description of materials and methods, a brief description of the results obtained, conclusions, key words (no more than 6).

The introduction is drawn up in the volume of one paragraph, where the relevance of the problem under study is emphasized. At the end of the introductory part, the purpose of the study is formalized.

The «Materials and Methods» section should include the research design; a description of the participants or type of material used in the work; a description of all the activities conducted and the type of statistical analysis.

The «Results» section should summarize the data obtained with interpretation. The results should be presented in a logical sequence in the form of text.

Conclusions should be related to the objectives of the study and should be organized as a single paragraph. Conclusions should contain qualified statements and data confirmed by the authors.

When selecting keywords, authors should strictly use the Medical Subject Headings of Index Medicus.

The text of abstracts should not contain abbreviated words, tables, graphs and other illustrations.

Each thesis should be prepared in a separate file.

The text of abstracts should be carefully edited.

The authors are responsible for the reliability of the data given in the materials.

The editors have the right to make any changes to the text of the manuscript if such changes do not detract from the value of the scientific data presented in the material.
