World Lymphoma Day is celebrated annually on September 15 on the initiative of the Lymphoma Society. The events of this day are aimed at raising public awareness of the disease, which will allow it to be diagnosed at an early stage and use modern treatment methods as effectively as possible. Lymphoma is a malignant tumor that affects the lymphatic system: bone marrow, thymus, spleen and lymph nodes. There are 2 main types of lymphoma: Hodgkin's lymphoma and non-Hodgkin's lymphomas. The first symptoms of lymphoma are a significant painless increase in the cervical, axillary and inguinal lymph nodes.
On September 14, assistants and clinical mentors of the oncology department held an Open Doors Day at the Multidisciplinary Medical Center of the Astana Akimat. On this day, oncologists conducted more than 60 thorough consultations, provided the necessary recommendations for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of Lymphoma.
The Department of Oncology expresses sincere gratitude to everyone who visited the Open Day and also reminds that prevention is the key to a healthy and happy life!
