The work of the Student Scientific Circle (SSC) was headed by Associate Professor of the Department, PhD Korobtsov A.V. at the Department of Histology and Cytology in the 2023-2024 academic year. 1st-year students of all faculties showed high interest in the discipline "Histology and Cytology" and after the first meeting, 40 people wrote an application to join the SSC. The share of involvement in research work was 65% - 25 students prepared scientific papers of an abstract/reviews on the chosen topic.

All teachers of the department actively participated in the work of the SSC, preparing up to 4 students each for the report.

Due to the large number of prepared reports, 3 intra-departmental conferences were held during the academic year. Participants spoke in the Kazakh (6 people), Russian (12 people) and English (7 people). Each work was assessed according to standards of criteria by a specially formed jury of the department's faculty.

The students, "yesterday's schoolchildren", demonstrated an extraordinary interest in the in-depth study of such a complex, fundamental discipline. The preparation of reports, the students' participation in the work of conferences contributed to their acquisition of experience in working with scientific literature, the accumulation of knowledge and the successful implementation of the Research based learning (RBL) methodology at the department.

The results of the scientific works of the participants of the Student Scientific Circle of the Department were published in journals and collections of scientific conferences in the near and far abroad.
