From November 11 to 15, 2024, the Head of the Department of Microbiology and Virology named after Sh.I. Sarbasova, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Marat Dusmagambetov, visited the Omsk State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation as part of an international academic mobility program.
The primary purpose of the visit was to conduct a series of classes on the discipline “Clinical Microbiology” for 3rd-year students of the “General Medicine” specialty. This cycle included lectures and practical sessions aimed at deepening students' knowledge in clinical microbiology and expanding their professional competencies.
During the trip, Professor Dusmagambetov also participated in the All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference with International Participation “Current Aspects of Natural Focal Diseases” dedicated to the 85th anniversary of Academician E.N. Pavlovsky’s theory of natural focal diseases. The conference was held on November 14–15, 2024, in Omsk and brought together leading experts from various regions of Russia.
At the conference, Marat Uteuovich presented a report at the roundtable on the topic: “Modern Approaches to Teaching Microbiology at Astana Medical University.” The presentation attracted great interest and facilitated the exchange of experiences in educational methodologies for teaching microbiology.
In total, more than 30 reports addressing pressing issues of natural focal diseases were presented at the conference. Participation in this event strengthened international scientific connections and showcased the achievements of Astana Medical University in the field of microbiology.
This visit marked a significant step in fostering academic collaboration between educational institutions in Kazakhstan and Russia and contributed to the development of international scientific cooperation.
