As part of efforts to prevent legal violations and clarify migration regulations, a meeting between international students and representatives of the migration service was held at Astana Medical University. The event featured speeches by Galymzhan Primbetov, Head of the External Migration Department of the Migration Service of the Astana Police Department, and Sultan Gusmanov, Senior Inspector of the Migration Service Department.
The main topics of discussion included the rules for international students’ stay in Kazakhstan and key aspects of compliance with migration legislation. Migration service representatives provided detailed explanations on registration procedures, visa extensions, and the rights and obligations of foreign citizens studying in the country’s higher education institutions.
Particular attention was given to the issue of employment for international students. The speakers emphasized that a student visa does not grant the right to work and reminded attendees that the primary purpose of their stay in Kazakhstan is to pursue education. Migration service representatives also warned about the possible consequences of violating migration laws, including fines and administrative measures.
During the meeting, students had the opportunity to ask questions and receive clarifications on various aspects of migration legislation. Law enforcement officials answered all inquiries, highlighting the importance of adhering to residency rules and regulations in Kazakhstan.
Such meetings contribute to improving the legal awareness of international students, help prevent violations, and create favorable conditions for their education in Kazakhstan. Astana Medical University will continue to conduct informational sessions to ensure students remain well-informed and supported regarding migration regulations.
