DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES: EXPERTS DISCUSS THE FUTURE OF MEDICINE AND EDUCATION

On April 10-11, as part of the "Days of Science" events, Astana Medical University hosted the II International Conference "Digital Technologies and Analytics in Healthcare and Education: Innovations and Prospects", organized by the Department of biostatistics, bioinformatics and information technologies. More than 30 experts fr om Kazakhstan, Europe, the USA and China took part in this important event, including representatives of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the World Health Organization (WHO).

One of the main focuses of the conference was the development of digital healthcare in Kazakhstan. In his presentation, Askar Arginbaev, Director of the Department of Digital Health Development at the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan, discussed the existing digital services, including electronic prescriptions, integration with government systems, and the development of technological solutions. He highlighted how digital tools are making medical care more accessible and convenient.

The international perspective on these processes was presented by Yerbol Spataev, project coordinator at the WHO Country office in Kazakhstan. He shared best practices in digital healthcare from European and Central Asian countries and emphasized the importance of experience exchange between regions.

Vice-Rector of Astana Medical University Vitaliy Koikov, also noted that digitalization is changing not only medicine but also the approach to educating future doctors:

"Today, the development of healthcare is inconceivable without technology. Digitalization is already influencing both medicine and education, and such conferences provide an opportunity not only to share experiences but also to collectively shape the development trajectory of these fields".

Over the course of two days, conference participants presented 35 papers on the application of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and digital platforms in healthcare and medical education. The discussions covered not only technologies but also how to train specialists capable of effectively working in the context of digital transformation.

The conference featured contributions from both renowned experts and young researchers and students. This created a lively, open atmosphere wh ere every voice was heard, and the exchange of opinions was truly productive.
