The XXVI International Scientific and Practical Conference “Current Issues in Clinical and Experimental Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Neurophysiology,” dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Professor Kayshybayev S.K. and the 95th anniversary of S.D. Asfendiyarov KazNMU, was held in Almaty on May 30–31, 2025, in a hybrid format.
The event brought together over 200 participants, including leading specialists from various countries, such as neurologists, neurosurgeons, neurophysiologists, researchers, and young scientists.
Representatives of the Department of Neurology of Astana Medical University actively participated in the conference.
The presentation by Head of the Department of Neurology, PhD in Medicine, Laura Yeszhanova, on the topic “ATTR Amyloidosis: From Etiology to Clinical Manifestations” generated significant interest among attendees. During the discussion, she was asked questions on current issues in the field of neurology, providing comprehensive and informative answers.
The traditional “Young Scientist School” featured 29 presentations and attracted considerable interest from the younger generation. The works of three students from the university were recognized with diplomas.
Fifth-year General Medicine student Nazym Baltan presented a report titled “Type I Narcolepsy: A Clinical Case and Analysis of the Pathogenesis of Autoimmune Hypotheses.” Her project was awarded a diploma for best clinical work.
Intern OralSyn Nuraiym (Group 771) received a third-degree diploma for her project titled “Neurological Manifestations of Cardiac Myxoma: Unclear Connections.”
Student Aldiyar Beknur from Group 540 in General Medicine was recognized by the jury as the best among young researchers and awarded a first-degree diploma. His presentation, “Overview of Neurological Manifestations in Patients with Fabry Disease in the Republic of Kazakhstan,” left a strong impression on the jury.
This conference holds great educational significance. It featured master classes, sectional symposia (satellite sessions), and discussions of current achievements, scientific discoveries, and future development prospects in the field of neurological sciences.
