A ceremonial closing event for the international educational program “Avicenna: Healthcare” was held at Astana Medical University. The program was implemented with the support of the Kazakhstan Agency for International Development KazAID and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency TIKA.
The project, aimed at promoting academic mobility and strengthening cooperation among Central Asian countries, brought together 12 fourth-year students of the General Medicine program from Osh State University of the Kyrgyz Republic and Avicenna Tajik State Medical University of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the three-week program, participants studied at the university’s clinical training bases. The curriculum included the disciplines Fundamentals of Surgical Diseases and Fundamentals of Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as an introduction to the healthcare system of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The closing ceremony was attended by representatives of the organizing institutions and partner organizations. Welcome speeches were delivered by Chairman of the Board of KazAID Arken Arystanov, TIKA Coordinator in the Republic of Kazakhstan Fuat Erdogmush, and Dean of the School of Medicine Aliya Smagulova.
During the ceremony, participants were awarded certificates of successful completion of the program. Representatives of the partner universities highlighted the high quality of the educational process, the practical value of the course, and its importance for the professional development of future doctors.
In turn, the students expressed their sincere gratitude to the leadership of Astana Medical University for the warm hospitality, new knowledge, and valuable practical experience.
