Astana Hosted the First International Olympiad in Rehabilitation Sciences

On April 23–24, 2026, Astana hosted the First International Olympiad in Rehabilitation Sciences at Astana Medical University. The large-scale academic and professional event brought together medical students, young specialists, and future rehabilitation professionals fr om Kazakhstan and abroad.

The Olympiad became an important international platform for knowledge exchange, professional networking, and showcasing modern approaches in the field of medical rehabilitation.

Broad Geography and Strong Participation

Participants represented Uzbekistan and various regions of Kazakhstan. Among them were students fr om Samarkand State Medical University, as well as medical universities and schools from Semey, Astana, Almaty, and Karaganda.

Theory, Practice, and Innovation

The Olympiad program consisted of several stages designed to comprehensively assess participants’ competencies.

The theoretical round included subject-based testing. The practical stage was held at the simulation center, wh ere contestants demonstrated professional skills in conditions closely resembling real clinical practice.

Particular attention was drawn to the startup competition, wh ere teams presented innovative projects and original ideas aimed at improving rehabilitation methods, enhancing patient care quality, and introducing modern technologies into the sector.

A Platform for Future Industry Leaders

Participants demonstrated a high level of theoretical knowledge, strong clinical reasoning, confident practical skills, and a creative approach to solving current challenges in rehabilitation sciences.

The Olympiad became an important step in strengthening international academic cooperation, expanding professional ties, and supporting young specialists who will shape the future of rehabilitation medicine.

Based on the results, winners and prize recipients were determined in the theoretical, practical, and innovation categories.

Organizers emphasized that such events contribute to training highly qualified professionals, advancing science, and implementing best practices in modern rehabilitation medicine.
