Astana Medical University hosted a working meeting with a delegation from the Academician E.A. Wagner Perm State Medical University. The visit marked an important step in strengthening international cooperation and opened new prospects for collaboration in medical education, research, and clinical practice.

The delegation of the Russian university was headed by Rector Anna Blagonravova. On behalf of Astana Medical University, the guests were welcomed by Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and International Cooperation Ayan Myssayev, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Assem Dossanova, Director of the Institute of Continuing Professional Education Assemgul Kassenova, and Head of the International Cooperation Department Saltanat Kassenova.

The discussions focused on key issues in modern medical education, including academic mobility of students and faculty, the launch of joint educational programs, development of research collaboration, as well as advanced training and professional retraining of medical personnel.

Particular attention was paid to prospects for clinical cooperation and the development of medical tourism. Exchange of expertise, implementation of best practices, and joint work on new initiatives are expected to give additional momentum to the development of healthcare systems in both countries.

The guests were also introduced to the university’s modern infrastructure. During a tour of the simulation center, the delegation explored innovative training technologies that enable future doctors to develop practical skills in conditions closely resembling real clinical practice.

The meeting was held in an atmosphere of open dialogue and mutual respect, confirming both parties’ interest in long-term partnership. Such international engagement forms a solid foundation for training competitive specialists of a new generation and advancing medical science.
