Students of Astana Medical University successfully represented the university at the International Student Scientific and Practical Conference on Pediatrics "Modern Approach of Young Scientists to Current Issues in Pediatrics," held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The international conference brought together students from medical universities in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Russia. Participants presented scientific and clinical research dedicated to modern approaches in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of childhood diseases. The event served as an important platform for academic exchange, professional collaboration, and the development of research competencies among young specialists.
Based on the results of the conference, AMU students secured several prize-winning places.
Darmen Auelbek and Saule Altybayeva were awarded Third-Degree Diplomas for their presentation titled "Influenza-Associated Acute Necrotizing Encephalopathy in Children," prepared under the academic supervision of Assylzhan Mesova, Associate Professor of the Department of Pediatric Diseases No. 3.
Another third place was earned by Fatima Iman, who presented a systematic review titled "New-Onset Adrenal Insufficiency in COVID-19 Patients Without Preexisting Adrenal Disease," also under the supervision of Associate Professor Assylzhan Mesova.
Second place went to Ali Munib, who presented the research work "Antegrade Continence Enema for Pediatric Neurogenic Bowel Dysfunction: An Umbrella Review of Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses," highlighting the broad scope of the university's scientific interests in the field of pediatrics.
"Student participation in international scientific events contributes to the development of research potential, the strengthening of academic ties, and the enhancement of the quality of medical education. The results achieved confirm the high level of student preparation and the university's competitiveness on the international stage," said Professor Sagira Abdrakhmanova, Head of the Department of Pediatric Diseases No. 3.
