The VI International Scientific and Practical Conference of Turkic-speaking countries “Modern trends in maternal and child health care – 2026” was held on the basis of the Medical University of Astana, organized by the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology No. 2. The large-scale scientific event brought together leading experts in the field of obstetrics, gynecology, reproductive medicine and maternal and child health care from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan. The conference was attended by research and teaching staff, practicing doctors, young scientists, doctoral students, undergraduates, residents and students of medical universities. The Chairman of the organizing Committee was Serik Iskakov, PhD, Professor, Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology No. 2 at the University. The conference was co-chaired by Lazat Smailova, PhD MS, Associate Professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology No. 2, and Sayra Iskalieva, PhD.
The main invited speaker of the conference was Munavvara Dodkhoyeva, an academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, an honored scientist and engineer, a doctor of medical sciences, and a professor at the Abuali ibn Sino Tajik State Medical University. Over the course of two days, the participants discussed a wide range of current issues in modern medicine, including the improvement of obstetric and gynecological care, modern standards of surgical obstetrics, innovations in endoscopic and laparoscopic surgery, the challenges of onco-gynecology and onco-mammology, reproductive health issues, endocrine and aesthetic gynecology, and modern approaches in pediatric and adolescent gynecology. Special attention was given to reducing maternal and perinatal mortality, implementing high-tech diagnostic and treatment methods, and promoting international cooperation in medical science and education.
The conference became a significant platform for the exchange of professional experience, strengthening of scientific ties and integration of modern medical technologies into practical healthcare. The participants noted the high level of the event’s organization and the importance of further development of a single scientific and educational space between medical communities of Turkic-speaking countries.
