Students of the “Pharmacy” educational program at NCJSC “Astana Medical University” successfully completed training at the international summer school “Summer School: Innovative Drugs”. The program was implemented under the academic mobility agreement at the I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University — one of the leading medical universities in Russia and worldwide.

The educational program included:

1. Lecture block by leading professors and researchers of Sechenov University. Key topics: design and development of innovative medicinal products, modern genetic technologies in pharmacy, the global challenge of antibiotic resistance, application of artificial intelligence and neural networks in drug discovery, development of antitumor peptides.

2. Practical classes and laboratory practicum at the Scientific and Technological Park of Biomedicine and the Institute of Translational Medicine. Students worked with high-tech equipment, studied GMP and GLP principles, and became familiar with the stages of preclinical research.

3. Scientific tours of university laboratories and meetings with young scientists implementing international grant projects.

Participation in the summer school allowed AMU students not only to deepen their knowledge of specialized disciplines, but also to acquire competencies in interdisciplinary research, teamwork in an international environment, and scientific communication in English. The experience gained is an important step in training competitive specialists for the pharmaceutical industry.

The implementation of this program became another stage in the development of long-term strategic partnership between NCJSC “Astana Medical University” and I.M. Sechenov First MSMU in the fields of education, science, and academic mobility.
