Days of Kazakhstan’s Medicine in Tajikistan: Professor Ayan Abdrakhmanov Presented Modern Approaches to Arrhythmia Treatment

Kazakhstani specialists shared advanced clinical experience with their colleagues fr om Tajikistan as part of the “Days of Kazakhstan’s Medicine in Tajikistan.”One of the key participants in the professional program was Professor Ayan Abdrakhmanov, Director of Heart Rhythm Research Institute at Astana Medical University.

The “Days of Kazakhstan’s Medicine in Tajikistan” provided an important platform for professional dialogue, clinical experience exchange, and the presentation of modern capabilities of Kazakhstan’s healthcare system. Particular attention during the visit was paid to the development of interventional cardiology and modern arrhythmology — fields that are actively advancing and being integrated into clinical practice.

Professor Ayan Abdrakhmanov presented modern methods of diagnosing and performing interventional treatment of cardiovascular diseases to Tajik colleagues and shared his practical experience in complex electrophysiological and endovascular procedures.

Six Procedures - From Diagnostics to Complex Interventional Interventions

As part of the practical program, 3 master classes were held, during which 6 interventional procedures were performed. These included procedures for atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT), including an atypical variant, an electrophysiological study (EPS), coronary angiography, and stenting of the right coronary artery (RCA).

The practical sessions not only demonstrated modern technologies but also provided an opportunity to discuss patient management strategies directly in a clinical setting.

From Lecture to Real-World Clinical Experience

An important part of the program was Professor Abdrakhmanov’s lecture, “Interventional Methods for the Treatment of Arrhythmias.” The presentation covered modern approaches to the diagnosis of cardiac rhythm disorders, the capabilities of electrophysiological studies, and catheter-based methods for treating arrhythmias.

The opportunity to discuss complex clinical cases and receive practical recommendations from an expert with extensive experience in interventional arrhythmology was particularly valuable for the specialists.

During the visit, consultations were also provided to patients. Joint discussion of clinical cases became an important part of the professional dialogue, allowing specialists to exchange opinions on the optimal diagnostic and treatment strategies.

Kazakhstan – Tajikistan: Cooperation Through Medical Practice

According to the participants, such meetings are particularly important for strengthening medical cooperation between the two countries. Professional exchange takes place not only through lectures and conferences but also directly in the operating room, wh ere knowledge and experience acquire a practical dimension.

During meetings with Tajik specialists, current issues in modern arrhythmology and interventional cardiology were discussed, along with opportunities for further professional cooperation, experience exchange, and the development of joint educational initiatives.

The participation of Professor Ayan Abdrakhmanov in the “Days of Kazakhstan’s Medicine in Tajikistan” marked another important step toward strengthening international professional ties and promoting modern interventional approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

For Astana Medical University, the development of international cooperation is an important part of its efforts to improve the quality of medical education, research, and clinical practice. Such initiatives enable Kazakhstani specialists not only to showcase the achievements of Kazakhstan’s healthcare system abroad but also to build sustainable professional partnerships with international colleagues.
