By Order No. 498 of the Minister of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan, dated October 6, 2026, Medical University of Astana has been named after Toregeldy Sharmanov. The university’s new official name is “National Medical University named after Toregeldy Sharmanov” Non-commercial joint-stock company.

The document was signed by Akmaral Alnazarova, Minister of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and took effect on the date of signing.

The university’s name in Kazakh is “Төрегелді Шарманов атындағы Ұлттық медицина университеті”.
Its English name is “National Medical University named after Toregeldy Sharmanov”.
Its abbreviated English name is “Sharmanov National Medical University”.
