Tatyana Tarkina Awarded the Honorary Title “Honoured Doctor of the Republic of Kazakhstan”
Tatyana Viktorovna Tarkina, Doctor of Medical Sciences and Professor at the Department of Dermatovenereology and Dermatocosmetology, has been awarded the honorary title “Honoured Doctor of the Republic of Kazakhstan”. Ahead of Republic Day, she received the honorary badge from the President of Kazakhstan.
Tatyana Tarkina’s professional career is closely linked to our university. She graduated from the Faculty of General Medicine at Tselinograd State Medical Institute in 1992 and subsequently completed her clinical residency in dermatovenereology. Since 1994, she has worked at her alma mater, combining teaching with clinical practice and scientific research.
Training doctors is a central part of her work. Since 2003, she has organised and overseen professional retraining and continuing education programmes in dermatovenereology, paediatric dermatovenereology and dermatocosmetology. She has supervised master’s research and served as a scientific adviser for a successfully defended PhD dissertation.
Tatyana Tarkina’s research focuses on improving treatments for psoriasis, acne and rosacea. She has authored more than 50 scientific publications and contributed to the development of clinical guidelines and the state standard for continuing education in dermatovenereology. Her work as an expert helps translate scientific knowledge into everyday clinical practice.
She also provides consultations to patients, including children, at medical institutions across the capital and assists colleagues with complex clinical cases. Her professional contributions include helping establish the Kazakhstan Association of Dermatovenereologists and Dermatocosmetologists and organising scientific and practical events for specialists.
