On January 29, 2021, the Internship and Residency Center together with the Vice-Rector for Clinical Work, N. A. Maltabarova, met with interns of the 7th course "General Medicine" and the 6th course "Dentistry". The meeting discussed the issue of preparation for the Final State Certification (IGA).
At the meeting, the issues of preparation for the Final State Certification of internship graduates were discussed. It is explained that the final state certification (IGA) of interns is a procedure carried out in order to determine the degree of mastering the volume of the necessary theoretical course of study and practical skills in accordance with the qualification requirements, the implementation of the working and individual curriculum in accordance with the requirements of the SES.
The final state certification is carried out in two stages:
Stage 1-integrated test exam in all disciplines of the standard internship curriculum;
Stage 2-certification of practical skills in the relevant specialty, by the method of an objective structured clinical exam.
The final state certification of graduates of the internship will be held in June, the exact date will be known later after approval by the National Center for Independent Examination (NCSE). The schedule will be presented on the website 2 weeks before the IGA.
The final certification of graduates in medical education programs is carried out by the accredited authorized body in the field of health – the ROO "National Center for Independent Examination" (hereinafter – the NCNE).
The IGA is conducted in accordance with the Order of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 11, 2020 No. KR DSM-249/2020. "On approval of the rules for assessing the knowledge and skills of students, assessing the professional readiness of graduates of educational programs in the field of health and health professionals".
In preparation for the IGA, interns will have to register on the website: https://exam.ncie.kz/ according to the instructions published on this site (for applicants previously unregistered). Then they can pass the self-assessment procedure of the 1st and 2nd stages on a paid basis at their own expense in March-May.
The format of the IGA of graduates will depend on the epidemiological situation of coronavirus infection.
