Astana Medical University, in partnership with the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan and UNICEF of Kazakhstan, launched a seminar for employees of departments of social protection, medical and social expertise of 17 regions with the participation of international experts on the topic “Experience in applying the provisions of the ICF in rehabilitation processes. Recommendations for the implementation of the ICF in the system of health care, education and social protection . "

The course participants were greeted by the acting Chairman of the Board - Rector Dauletyarova Marzhan Amangalievna, Deputy Representative of UNICEF in the Republic of Kazakhstan Veronika Vashchenko, Director of the Department for Development of Social Services Boranbaykyzy Albina.

The information obtained during the workshop will allow for exchange of views on key components and gain a deeper understanding of the application of the ICF in sectors with a focus on children and adolescents.

At the end of the seminar, students will gain knowledge about the main provisions of the International Classification of Functioning, Disabilities and Health, the principles of human functioning in the ICF categories, international and national documents regulating the use of the ICF, the principles of organizing the work of multidisciplinary groups. Also, students will acquire the skills of using ICF, determining criteria for assessing the functioning of patients, taking into account the categories of ICF, barriers of the mental and social environment that affect the effectiveness of rehabilitation measures.
