On January 26, 2022 at 12:00 pm, an ONLINE TOURNAMENT on togyzқұmalak was held, as part of the annual competition for the Rector's Cup, among teachers and employees of NJSC «Astana Medical University».

«Togyzkumalak» is one of the oldest Kazakh board games based on the number 9, which was considered sacred by the ancient Turks. In the scientific world, it was called the «algebra of nomads», since during the game the opponents have to use all four basic mathematical operations. The game is built not only on the speed of counting, but also on tactics. The game «Togyzқұmalak» can last for four to five hours.This game was popular in ancient times, when players, even without a game board, could simply dig holes in the ground to play. Popular «Togyzkumalak» and in our time and gradually the number of its admirers is growing every year.

The tournament was held on the Internet portal Play ok. A total of 9 people participated.

At the end of the tournament:

1 place was taken by Beibitkhan Zharkyn, Chair of Neanology.

2nd place - Kukanova Asiya Maratovna, Chair of Oncology.

3rd place - Niyazbayeva Kuralay Abdirakhmanovna, Chair of Oncology.
