Creation history
The Dental Faculty was founded in KazGMA in accordance with the Order of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 535 dated 08.07.2002. The first enrollment was 35 students and the curator was appointed Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Sh. Donenbayeva.
In 2003, a joint department of Dentistry was established, headed by a well-known scientist, clinician and organizer, first president of the Kazakhstan Dental Association( KDA), member of the World Association of Dentists( FDI), Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor M. A. Temirbayev.
From 2006 to March 2007, the head of the Department of Combined Dentistry of KazGMA was appointed Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Yeslyamgalieva A.M. Due to the increase in the academic load and the number of students at the Faculty of Dentistry, since 2007, the department of combined Dentistry was divided into two departments, the Department of Orthopedic and Pediatric Dentistry, which is currently headed by Professor Yeslyamgalieva A.M.
1.Educational and methodical work.
Today, the Department of Orthopedic and Pediatric Dentistry provides bachelor's, internship, master's and doctoral studies in the State, Russian and English languages of students.
The faculty of the department is fully staffed, including professors, associate professors, doctors of Philosophy (PhD), masters of Medicine and assistants. The department maintains continuity, and as necessary, the staff of the department is replenished from among graduates of the School of Dentistry and dentists from practical healthcare.
The staff of the department constantly great attention to improving pedagogical skills and their implementation in the educational process. This is evidenced by the development of new ones and their implementation in practice,the constant updating of educational and methodological support, the transfer of experience through mutual visits to teaching staff classes, participation in various grants and research projects. Certificates of implementation of innovative teaching methods CBL, TBL, clinical situational role-playing lesson (CSR-lesson),brainstorming method for conducting practical classes and integrated boundary control in the discipline "Micro-prosthetics" were obtained by professors Yeslyamgalieva A.M., Zamuraeva A. U., associate docents Aldabergenova T. K., Kulmirzayeva A. B.,Orynbayeva B. Sh., assistants Pshembayeva R. K., Zhilkibayeva Zh. B., Abdikarimova A. A. (akt #0000048 (20) of 2020y NAO "MUA",akt #0000051 (20) of 2021y NAO "MUA",act #18 of 2022y KazNMU, act #0000076 (23-24) of 2023y NAO "MUA").
Academic mobility of teaching staff at the department is carried out on the basis of cooperation agreements with other universities for the purpose of conducting practical classes, seminars, lectures. So, in the framework of the academic mobility program, prof. Yeslyamgalieva A.M. in 2015 visited the "M. Ospanov ZKMU" Aktobe, introduced an integrated interdisciplinary lecture at the Department of Pediatric and Surgical Dentistry of WKMU, in 2017 Xinjiang Medical University (Urumqi, China), in 2018 Lithuanian Medical University Vilnius; in 2020 SKMA in Shymkent; docent Orynbayeva B. Sh. in 2020 S. D. Asfendiyarov KazNMU, Almaty; docent Aldabergenova T. K. in 2021 " M. Ospanov WKMU " Aktobe, in 2022 S. D. Asfendiyarov KazNMU Almaty, introducing an integrated method of conducting boundary control in the discipline "Micro-prosthetics" at the Department of Orthopedic Dentistry; ass. Pshembayeva R. K. in 2021 " M. Ospanov WKMU " Aktobe; ass. Abdikarimova A. A. in 2021 " M. Ospanov WKMU " Aktobe.
The teaching staff of the department regularly publishes educational and methodical literature for students ofthe EP "Dentistry", Professor Yeslyamgalieva A.M. published 8 textbooks, including 1 textbook in the State language; Professor Zamuraeva A. U. – 3 textbooks; docent Aldabergenova T. K.-15 textbooks, including 2 in the state language and 1 in English; assistant Pshembaeva R. K. 12 textbooks, of which 4 are in the State language, assistant Zhilkibaeva Zh. B. 2 textbooks, of which 1 is in the State language.
Employees of the department take an active part in the preparation and passing of certification, institutional accreditation of NJSC "MUA", and are also involved in external accreditation of other universities of the EP "Dentistry", being national experts of Prof. Yeslyamgalieva A.M. "Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating"(IAAR) and docent Aldabergenova T. K. "European Center for Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education and Healthcare" (ECA).
2. Scientific work.
Constantly submit documents for grant competitions for research projects and are currentlyunfulfilled: in 2018-2020, Prof. Yeslyamgaliyeva A.M. and Kulmirzayeva A. B. scientific assistance on epidemiological analysis of the project "Research of biomarkers of dental caries among adolescents in different regions of Kazakhstan" NLA NazarbaevUniversity, in 2021 Prof. Yeslyamgalieva A.M. and doctoral student Onerova A. A. scientific project on the topic: "Study of the pharmacological activity of a new drug of plant origin "Matripin - Dent" in the treatment of inflammatory diseases of the periodontal tissues".
During the period of work of the department under the leadership of Prof. Yeslyamgalieva A.M. successfully completed their master's degree and received an academic Master's degree Kulmirzaeva A. B. in 2010, Kalieva A..Z.in 2016, Onerova A. A. in 2019, also completed their doctoral studies and successfully defended their dissertations for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy PhD Kulmirzaeva A. B. in 2017, Tishbaev K. in 2018, and Onerova A. A. is preparing for the defense of her dissertation work.
The staff of the departments published more than 350 scientific publications in the journals of the Higher Attestation Commission, RSCI, KKSON, including those with the impact factor Q1, Q2 in the journals Scopus, Prof. Yeslyamgalieva A.M. - 2 articles, prof. Teaching staff of the department constantly make presentations at regional, national, international scientific and practical conferences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in the countries of far and near abroad. Also in 2010, under the leadership of the head of the Departments of orthopedic and pediatric dentistry YeslyamgalievaA.M., therapeutic and surgical dentistry Zhumadilova A. Zh. the First International Conference "New technologies in dentistry and dental implantology, Astana 2010", in 2011 the Second International Conference "New technologies in dentistry and dental implantology" was organized and held. “Modern technologies in orthopedic dentistry and dental practice” the conferences were attended by scientists from 15 countries of the far and near abroad.
The department conducts research work with students of the School of Dentistry in the areas of "Orthopedic Dentistry", "Pediatric Dentistry", "Orthodontics". The results of scientific and student works are reported in the annual international scientific and practical conferences of students and young scientists of the Republic of Kazakhstan, near and far abroad with the publication of abstracts, with the receipt of prizes (Astana, Almaty, Semey, Tashkent, Ufa, Samarkand, Perm, Ryazan, Novosibirsk, Czech Republic). Every year at the department, interns participate in the competition held by the NJSC " MUA " "Best intern of the Year", where they also receive awards in the form of diplomas and certificates. Students, under the guidance of the department's staff, аctively participate in Olympiads and competitions held in the Republic of Kazakhstan and neighboring countries, both as teams and individually, and take prizes (Astana, Tashkent, Ufa, Samarkand, Perm, Ryazan, Novosibirsk, the Republic of Tatarstan). Czech Republic).
Alimzhanov S. Zh. together with the students of the research circle in 2011, a training film was created on the topic: "Clinical and laboratory stages of manufacturing a complete removable prosthesis", which is used in the educational process.
Employees of the department together with the School of Dentistry organize and conduct Olympiads among students: in 2013, on the topic: "Odontopreparation of teeth on a phantom under a metal-ceramic crown", dentists of the Republic of Kazakhstan were invited as a jury; in 2023 the 3rd " Student Olympiad in Orthopedic Dentistry”.
3. Clinical work.
The medical workс of the department is carried out according to an individual plan on the basis of educational and clinical offices of the department, in the ECC "Stomatology" "SeitenovCorporation" LLP, in "MFS" LLP. Employees of the department have indefinite medical qualifications of the highest and first categories, constantly improve their medical qualifications and conduct advanced certification courses, master classes, seminars, webinars for dentists of the Republic of Kazakhstan, participate as experts in various collegial and advisory bodies, are members of the Kazakhstan Dental Association and the Unified Kazakhstan Association of Dentists.
4.Educational work.
The department conducts educational work with students during school and out-of-school hours, career guidance work is carried out in the Summer School in order to motivate applicants to enter the university. Employees of the department are curators and mentors of 2-6 courses of the EP "Dentistry". Employees of the department take an active part in city and university clean up events and other various events of the university and the city of Astana. For the educational purpose of students, the staff of the department, together with the School of Dentistry, organized and held among students in 2023 a Competition dedicated to the World Oral Healthy Day(WOHD) on the theme: "Healthy teeth-a healthy body"; in 2024, a theatrical performance dedicated to the International Day of the Dentist. In 2016, under the leadership of docent Aldabergenova T.K. with the "United Kazakhstan Association of Dentists of the Republic of Kazakhstan" and in 2023 under the guidance of docents Zhaubasova A. Zh., Orynbayeva B. Sh., assistants Zhunusova A. T., Kaspakova L. A., Khusainova M. B. and Sarsenbayeva F. S. and with the "Kazakhstan Dental Association" together with students performed the project "Shiny smile" in Astana schools in 2023 under the guidance of Prof.. Zamuraeva A. U., ass. Sarsenbayeva F. S.- project "For the benefit of the future generation".
