History of creation
The Faculty of Dentistry was founded in KazGMA in accordance with the Order of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 535 dated 08.07.2002. The first enrollment was 35 students and the curator was appointed Ph.D., associate professor Donenbaeva Sh.
In 2003, a joint department of dentistry was organized, headed by a well-known scientist, clinician and organizer, the first president of the Kazakhstan Dental Association (KSA), a member of the World Association of Dentists (FDI), doctor of medical sciences, professor Temirbaev M.A..
From 2006 to March 2007, the head of the Department of United Dentistry of KazGMA was appointed Ph.D., Associate Professor Eslyamgalieva A.M. Due to an increase in the educational load and the number of students at the dental faculty, since 2007 the Department of United Dentistry has been divided into two departments, the Department of Orthopedic and Pediatric Dentistry, which is currently headed by Ph.D., Professor Eslyamgalieva A.M..
1. educational - methodological work.
Today, the Department of Orthopedic and Pediatric Dentistry provides training within the framework of undergraduate, internship, master's and doctoral studies in the state, Russian and English languages of education.
The staff of the faculty of the department is fully staffed, including professors, associate professors, doctor of philosophy (PhD), masters of medicine and assistants. Continuity is observed at the department, as necessary, the staff of the department is replenished from among the graduates of the School of Dentistry and dentists from practical health care.
The staff of the department constantly pay great attention to improving pedagogical qualifications and their implementation in the educational process. This is evidenced by the development of new ones and their implementation in practice, the constant updating of educational and methodological support, the transfer of experience through mutual visits to teaching sessions, participation in various grants and research projects. Academic mobility of teaching staff at the department is carried out on the basis of cooperation agreements with other universities in order to conduct practical classes, seminars, lectures. So, within the framework of the program of academic mobility, prof. Eslyamgalieva A.M. in 2015 visited the NAO "ZKMU M. Teaching staff of the department regularly publish educational and methodological literature for students of the "Dentistry" OP, Professor Yeslyamgalieva A.M. 8 textbooks were issued, of which 1 textbook in the state language; Professor A. Zamuraeva - 3 teaching aids; Associate Professor Aldabergenova TK - 15 textbooks, of which 2 in the state language and 1 in English; Assistant Pshembaeva R.K. 12 textbooks, of which in the state language - 4, assistant Zhilkibaeva Zh.B. 2 textbooks, of which 1 in the state language.
Employees of the department take an active part in the preparation and passing of certification, institutional accreditation of NAO "MUA," are also involved in external accreditation of other universities of the OP "Dentistry," being national experts prof. Eslyamgalieva A.M. "Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating" (NAAR) and assoc. Aldabergenova TK "Eurasian Center for Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education and Healthcare" (ECA). 2. scientific work.
They constantly submit documents for grant competitions for the implementation of scientific projects and have been completed to date: in 2018-2020 prof. Eslyamgalieva A.M. and Kulmirzaeva A.B scientific assistance in epidemiological analysis of the project "Study of biomarkers of dental caries among adolescents in different regions of Kazakhstan" NLANazarbaevUniversity, in 2021 prof. Eslyamgalieva A.M. and doctoral student Onerova A.A. scientific project on the topic: "Study of the pharmacological activity of a new herbal agent "Matripin - Dent" in the treatment of inflammatory periodontal diseases"
During the period of work of the department under the guidance of prof. Eslyamgalieva A.M. successfully completed their master's degree and received an academic degree of Master Kulmirzaev A.B. in 2010, Kalieva A.Z. in 2016, Onerova A.A. in 2019, also completed doctoral studies and successfully defended dissertations for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy Ph.D. Kulmirzaev A.B in 2017, Tishbaev K. in 2018, A.A. Onerova is preparing to defend her dissertation.
The staff of the departments published more than 350 scientific publications in the journals of the Higher Attestation Commission, RSCI, KKSON, of which with impact - factor Q1, Q2 in the journals Scopus prof. Teaching staff of the department constantly make reports at regional, republican, international scientific and practical conferences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in countries of far and near abroad. Also in 2010, under the leadership of the heads of the departments of orthopedic and pediatric dentistry Yeslyamgalieva A.M., therapeutic and surgical dentistry Zhumadilova A.Zh. organized and held in Astana, I International Conference "New Technologies in Dentistry and Dental Implantology, Astana 2010," in 2011 the II International Conference "Modern Technologies in orthopaedic dentistry and dental practice." The conferences were attended by scientists from 15 countries of the far and near abroad.
The department conducts research work with students of the School of Dentistry in the areas of "Orthopedic dentistry," "Pediatric dentistry," "Orthodontics." The results of scientific and student works are reported in the annual international scientific and practical conferences of students and young scientists of the Republic of Kazakhstan, near and far abroad with the publication of theses of works, with the receipt of prizes (Astana, Almaty, Semey, Tashkent, Ufa, Samarkand, Perm, Ryazan, Novosibirsk, Republic of Czech Republic). Every year, at the department, interns participate in the competition held by NAO "MUA" "Best Intern of the Year," where they also have awards in the form of diplomas and diplomas. Students, under the guidance of the department staff, actively participate in olympiads, competitions held in the Republic of Kazakhstan and in neighboring countries, both by teams and individually and take prizes (Astana, Tashkent, Ufa, Samarkand, Perm, Ryazan, Novosibirsk, Republic of Czech Republic). Students in 2024 also won prizes in international competitions and olympiads in Almaty and the Republic of Uzbekistan, having received diplomas, diplomas, as well as cash prizes.
Assistant Alimzhanov S.Zh. together with students of the research circle in 2011 created a training film on the topic: "Clinical and laboratory stages of making a complete removable prosthesis," which is used in the educational process. In 2025, students under the guidance of assistant Zhilkibaeva Zh.B. and dental technician Seismagambetova A.A. made films on the topic: "Clinical and laboratory stages of manufacturing a stamped crown" and "Clinical and laboratory stages of manufacturing a partially removable plate prosthesis."
Employees of the department, together with the School of Dentistry, organize and conduct olympiads among students of the School of Dentistry: in 2013 on the topic: "Odontopreparation of teeth on a phantom under a metal-ceramic crown," dentists of the Republic of Kazakhstan were invited as a jury; in 2023, the 3rd Student Olympiad in Orthopedic Dentistry; in 2024 "Student Olympiad in Pediatric Dentistry," in 2025, the "Student Olympiad in Orthodontics."
3. clinical work.
The medical work of the department staff is carried out according to an individual plan on the basis of educational and clinical offices of the department, LLP UKTs "Dentistry"; LLP "Samgau med "; TOO "Nobel Cause"; TOO "Art-Estet," Department employees have indefinite medical qualification higher and first categories, constantly improve their medical qualifications and conduct advanced training courses, master classes, seminars, webinars for dentists of the Republic of Kazakhstan, participate by experts in various collegial and advisory bodies, are members of the Kazakhstan Dental Association and the United Kazakhstan Association of Dentists.
4. Educational work.
At the department, educational work is carried out with students during school and outside school hours, career guidance work is carried out at the Summer School in order to motivate applicants to enter the university. Employees of the department are curators and mentors of 2-6 courses of the OP "Dentistry." Employees of the department take an active part in city and university subbotniks and in other various events of the university and the city of Astana. For educational purposes, the staff of the department, together with the School of Dentistry, organized and held among students in 2023 a competition dedicated to World Oral Health Day (WOHD) on the topic: "Healthy teeth-Healthy body"; in 2024, a theatrical performance dedicated to the International Day of the Dentist. In 2016, under the leadership of Assoc. Aldabergenova TK with the "United Kazakhstan Association of Dentists of the Republic of Kazakhstan" and in 2023 under the leadership of Assoc. Zhaubasova A.Zh., assoc. Orynbayeva B.Sh., assistants Zhunusova A.T., Kaspakova L.A., Khusainova M.B. and Sarsenbayeva F.S. and with the "Kazakhstan Dental Association" together with students of the School of Dentistry performed in the project "Dazzling Smile" in schools in Astana, in 2023 under the guidance of prof. Zamuraeva A.U., ass. Sarsenbaeva F.S. - project "For the benefit of the future generation."
