Aims
Planning, organization and implementation of educational, methodical, clinical, educational work, current, intermediate and final control of students in accordance with the curricula and programs of the specialty «Medicine», «Pediatric»;
Training of highly qualified scientific and pedagogical personnel, improvement of their qualification in residency, master's, doctoral studies of specialty "Medicine", "Therapy»;
Planning and conducting research on fundamental and priority areas for practical health care, implementation of the results of research and innovative technologies.
History of creation
In the autumn of 1965, in the bases of the regional hospitals and roads of Tselinograd was organized the first of therapeutic Departments of our Institute – Department of Internal Medicine Propaedeutics. The organizer and the first head of the Department was docent Kropelnitskaya M.V. Currently, the Department is located at the base of the Main Military Clinical Hospital Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan, Multidisciplinary city hospital No3, Multidisciplinary city hospital No.1, сity hospital N1.
During these more than five decades in the Department, many teachers who have invested a certain contribution to the establishment of the Department, left a good memories: Konoshenok G.V., Neklyudova V.I., Raczynski I.D., Pleskacheva L.A., Petskalev A.Z., Kalimurzina B.S., Malevich C.L., Chernomashentsev V.I., Yamshikova E.A. Ikonnikova V.A. and others. For forty years Professor Pylypenko V.Z. worked at the Department and for fourteen of them, Victor Zakharovich headed the Department (1972 to 1984).
From 1984 to 1988 Professor Rose Rahimovna Bektaeva was headed the Department.
From 1989 to 1990 - Doctor of Medical Sciences Ivan Danilovich Raczynski.
From 1991 to 1992 - Professor V.Z.Pilipenko again.
From 1992 to January 2004 - Professor Bayan Alkenovna Ainabekova.
From January 2004 to November 2023 – Associate professor Victor Alexeyevich Tkachev.
From 6 of November 2023 to present – Associate professor Aliya Smagulova
Activity
At the department of internal diseases with course of geriatrics taught disciplines of bachelor's degree: "Propaedeutics of internal diseases", "Basics of internal diseases" for the specialities "Medicine", "General Medicine", "Pediatrics", "Basics of internal diseases" for the specialty "Kinesiotherapy", "Basics of internal diseases" for the specialty "Dentistry", disciplines for internship «Internal diseases in practice of GP» for the specialty "General Medicine". Preparation for postgraduate education in residency in the specialty "Therapy". Advanced training courses are held for therapist and GP doctors on speciality «Geriatrics».
Interactive teaching methods are actively implemented at the department. The PBL ,TBL , CBL, TPCBL, RBL techniques are used in the educational process.
The main scientific direction of the department is «Сurrently to improve the methods of diagnosis and treatment of intestinal microbiocinosis disorders in chronic gastroenterological diseases».
The department participates in the scientific and technical process of Nazarbayev University «Determination of microbiomic and genomic biomarkers of rheumatoid arthritis in the Kazakh population.» During the existence of the department two monographs were published, more than 500 scientific articles, 22 teaching aids were published, two Doctoral thesis, 11 PhD dissertations, 4 master's theses are defenced. More than 20 clinical residents have been trained on the basis of the department.
The department operates a student scientific society. Every year 3-4 scientific papers are submitted to the final student conference.
Clinical bases of the department are: Main clinical military hospital of the Ministry of defense of Republic of Kazakhstan, Multidisciplinary city hospital No3, Multidisciplinary city hospital No.1, сity polyclinic No14.
With the participation of employees of the Department held scientific and practical, pathological conferences, seminars, clinical rounds and consultations.
Employees of the Department regularly improve their professional level at advanced training courses in pedagogy and medicine.
Achievements
The teaching staff of the department has a fairly high professional level of training, have qualified medical categories and certificates of specialists, conduct a lot of medical and advisory work.
The degree of the department is 60%, 1 doctor of medical sciences, 3 candidates of medical sciences, 2 phD in Medicine, 2 masters in Medicine. The staff of the department were 100% trained in the cycles : " Сommunication skills in clinical disciplines and medical ethics and «Innovative technologies in medical education». Innovative teaching methods are actively used: PBL, TPCBL, CBL, RBL, TBL among students of 2-3 courses in the specialties "General Medicine", "Medicine", "Pediatrics", "Kinesiotherapy", "Dentistry". An ECG school has been organized for students of the department, and a monthly meeting of the student scientific circle is held. Students have repeatedly won prizes at scientific and student conferences under the guidance of teachers of the department. The staff of the department Smagulova A.K., Kubekova S.Zh., Kazbekova A.T., Zagorulya N.L. participate in the project of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Every year, the staff of the department publishes 2-3 articles in international peer-reviewed journals.
Cooperation with the laboratory of human microbiome and longivity of Nazarbayev University, Master's dissertation successfully defenced by Borykbay Zh.B. the Department takes part in the introduction of NTP "immunological profile and microbiome markers in the context of the effectiveness of probiotic therapy in rheumatoid patients arthritis". The Department actively conducts a cycle of improving the qualification, in 2022 6 cycles on the specialty "Geriatrics" for the time being were held. Department of relations: Kazbekova A. T. awarded the award "Excellent of Healthcare", Khusainova G. S. and Akhmetova zh.B. were awarded as "For contribution to health care". At the Department of internal diseases № 1 for the last year 21 residents in the specialty of «Therapy» were released. At present, a doctoral research project by Zagoruli N.L. and a master’s thesis by Mazhitova A.M. are being conducted.
