History of the department
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology No. 2 was established in 2019 by reforming two departments: the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology No. 2, the Faculty of Continuing Professional Development and Additional Education and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology internship.
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology No. 2, Faculty of Continuing Professional Development and Additional Education was established on the basis of the Faculty of Advanced Training of Doctors of the Akmola State Medical Academy in 2001 and was located on the bases of the Tselinograd Regional Clinical Hospital (CRKB) and the perinatal city Center No. 1.2. S. Iskakov has been the head of the department since the foundation of the Faculty of Advanced Medical Training.
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology internship was organized in the 2009-2010 academic year, under the supervision of Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences Doschanova A.M. (2009-2018).
In subsequent years, the department was headed by Tuletova A. S. (2018-2019), Korkan I. P. (2019).
Currently, the department is located on the bases of the city multidisciplinary hospital No.2, multidisciplinary regional hospital No. 2. Clinical bases of the department are City Multi-Specialty Hospital No.2, City polyclinic No.1, City polyclinic No.2, City polyclinic No.4, City polyclinic No.6, City polyclinic No.7, City polyclinic No.9, City polyclinic No.10, City polyclinic No.11, TSS "Shipager", "Ecomed" and other health facilitiesin Astana.
Main activity
Employees of the department conduct:
· morning medical conferences
· weekly rounds, according to the schedule
· consultations of noteworthy pregnant women, women in labor, women in labor, gynecological patients
· clinical reviews and consultations
· analysis of cases of perinatal mortality and amniotic loss
· scientificand practical conferences
· consulting and medical assistance at the department's bases and supervised regions of Northern Kazakhstan
· all types of surgical interventions in obstetrics and gynecology
· training of personnel in new methods of treatment and diagnostics
· participation in the preparation of clinical protocols
· training seminars with doctors
· preparing doctors for presentations at scientific and practical conferences
· meetings of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Nur-Sultan
· master classes with employees of basic and non-basic institutions on effective technologies in obstetrics, gynecology and perinatology
· work in working groups of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the development of necessary documents to improve the quality of care and review of deaths.
The main areas of scientific work of the department are reproductive health protection. Research work is carried out on the following topics: "Maternal and perinatal mortality and their determining factors in the region of Northern Kazakhstan"; "Purulent-septic complications and their prevention in obstetrics and gynecology"; "Safe motherhood", "Modern methods of reproductive technologies"
For doctors, interns, residents, and undergraduates, the theoretical part of materials on the specialty obstetrics and gynecology is presented using a multimedia system, in the form of problem lectures and discussion lectures. Trainees and trainees are trained on modern phantoms, where practical skills are developed, under the supervision of experienced clinicians-teachers (trainers). Step-by-step actions when providing emergency assistance are worked out by practicing skills in specially equipped classrooms. The educational process uses methods of developing clinical thinking by discussing clinical cases, interactive techniques.
Achievements
The number of employees of the department is 78%: 1 Doctor of Medical Sciences, 5 candidates of medical sciences, 4 doctors of PhD, 3 masters of medicine.
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology No.2 actively develops external relations with partners from Universities, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the RCRP in order to provide scientific and methodological assistance, and participates in the development of clinical protocols and standards for providing obstetric and gynecological care.
During the educational process, the department practices the exchange of students, undergraduates on academic mobility with foreign partners.
To conduct scientific research and publishing activities, the department actively cooperates with many medical organizations in Kazakhstan, near and far abroad.
As a result of scientific research and clinical observations, the department's staff developed and implemented a number of proposals for the practice of obstetric care and for the treatment of gynecological patients, some of which were patented.
