The assistant of the Department of Pathological Anatomy Shaikenova M.S., in the period from 20.11. to 26.11.22, as part of academic mobility, took part in a seminar organized by the Open Medical Institute (OMI) in cooperation with the «Cleveland Clinic» and the «Medical University of Vienna» in the specialty «Pathology» in Salzburg (Austria).

During the seminar, lectures were listened to on the topics of tumor and non-tumor diseases of the female and male reproductive system, thyroid gland, kidneys, head and neck, hepatobiliary system, breast, perinatal pathology and many others. Topical problems of morphological diagnostics and the use of additional methods in the work of a pathologist were highlighted, modern approaches and trends in the development of the specialty were discussed.

During the seminar, presentations of interesting clinical cases were heard from the participants of the seminar, where Shaikenova presented a report on the topic: "Neuroendocrine tumor of the cervix", followed by discussion among the participants and lecturers of the seminar.

Participation in this seminar gave her a lot of new knowledge and skills that she can apply in my clinical and scientific practice, the opportunity to improve my professional level, as well as share the acquired experience with my colleagues. In addition, it was a unique chance to establish professional ties with colleagues from different countries, and, of course, great motivation and inspiration for further development.

Lecture materials and analytical material of the seminar will be introduced into the educational process of the Department of Pathological Anatomy.
