Within the walls of Astana Medical University, from July 10 to July 24, the International Course “Comparison Analysis between Kazakhstan and Israel Health Systems” was held with the participation of professors and PhD doctoral students from Ariel University, Israel and Astana Medical University. The team of participants from Ariel University included Prof. Liat Korn, PhD, Head of Health Systems Management Department and Health Promotion Track and Prof. Nachman Ash, MD, Director-general of the Ministry of Health, Israel's Coronavirus Commissioner, Сhief of the Israel Defense Forces Medical Corps (former), Health Systems Management Department, , as well as 8 doctoral and undergraduate students from Ariel University.
This course was aimed at analyzing the Israeli and Kazakh healthcare systems, sharing experience in organizing the activities of the healthcare systems of our countries through visits to healthcare organizations in the city of Astana. The course participants visited various healthcare facilities in our capital. The peculiarity of this course was also the fact that PhD doctoral students of both universities presented the results of their dissertation research, having received a critical assessment and recommendations for further improvement of their work.
Conducting an international course has become another event in the framework of the strategic partnership between Astana Medical University and Ariel University. Our universities are already closely cooperating in a number of areas - including internships for Kazakh doctoral students at Ariel University, attracting leading Israeli scientists to Astana Medical University as visiting professors. Already in September of this year, we plan to hold a large-scale international summit "Academy of the XXI century: at the vanguard of medical education, science and practice", and joint educational and scientific programs are being developed.
