The republican scientific and practical conference with international participation "Innovations in Traumatology and Orthopedics" has started its work at Astana Medical University today.

To date, injuries occupy the fourth place in the structure of mortality of the population after cardiovascular diseases, respiratory organs and oncological diseases. In this regard, it is the field of traumatology and orthopedics that has been the field of medicine in recent years, where a wide range of scientific research is being carried out, new medical technologies are being actively developed and introduced.

The conference brought together domestic and foreign specialists in the field of traumatology and orthopedics, as well as a wide range of related specialties. During the event, it is planned to discuss issues of diagnosis and treatment for injuries and diseases of the musculoskeletal system, as well as the introduction of innovations in the practice of medical institutions.

The program also includes master classes with analysis of complex operations from experts from Russia, China, Turkey, Germany, India, the UAE and Uzbekistan.

In her welcoming speech, the Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan Azhar Giniyat noted that thanks to the policy of the Head of State, the domestic healthcare managed to make a breakthrough in its development, which undoubtedly had a positive impact on the quality of life of Kazakhstanis. "There is a systematic development of the healthcare sector in the country, which is directly related to the growth of economic well-being. It is important to accelerate the systematic use of high technologies, world achievements, training and advanced training of medical personnel, actively introduce new technologies for diagnosis and treatment of injuries and diseases of the musculoskeletal system," the minister stressed in her speech.

In turn, the Chairman of the Board – Rector Kamalzhan Nadyrov noted that injuries remain one of the most important medical and social problems of our time not only for Kazakhstan, but also for most countries of the world. He stressed that according to the residency program, 28 orthopedic traumatologists are trained at the university, undergraduates and doctoral students traditionally choose this direction as the direction of their research.

The conference is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, full member of the Academy of Natural Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, winner of the silver medal of Al-Farabi for outstanding contribution to science Abdrakhmanov Alibek Zhanpeisovich. Alibek Zhanpeisovich, made a great contribution to the development of traumatology and orthopedics in our country and to the development of Astana Medical University. He has worked for more than 30 years at the Astana Medical University, holding the positions of assistant, professor, head of the Department, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Vice-rector of the Institute for Scientific Work. Under his leadership, 33 doctors and candidates of sciences were trained, a number of new technologies in the field of traumatology and orthopedics were developed and implemented.

Within the framework of the conference, Minister of Health Azhar Giniyat awarded Professor Abdrakhmanov A.Zh. the title of honorary professor of the National Scientific Center of Traumatology and Orthopedics named after Academician N. D. Batpenov.

During the conference, the Director of the N.D. Batpenov National Research Medical Center Olzhas Bekarisov noted the importance of the event and expressed confidence that the conference will become a dialogue platform for improving the professional level of specialists and coordinating the activities of the orthopedic and traumatology service of Kazakhstan, will allow exchanging the experience of colleagues from near and far abroad.

The event aroused great interest among young specialists, for whom this is a great opportunity, without going abroad, to learn from senior colleagues - professors, heads of the largest centers of the far and near abroad. Within the framework of the conference, a contest of young scientists "Batpen readings" will be held for them.

Within the framework of the conference, an exhibition was held at which leading Kazakh and foreign manufacturers of medical devices and medical equipment presented their developments in diagnostics, treatment, medical rehabilitation in the field of traumatology and orthopedics.
