Іn Kazakhstan, officially about 200 thousand people and more than 600 organizations regularly engage in charity work. The number of active citizens who want to help and develop this area is growing every year, especially among young people.
Students of Astana Medical University also make their contribution to the development of the volunteer movement annually. Recently, our guys were awarded letters of gratitude from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan for their work as volunteers.
In a solemn atmosphere, amid loud applause, WHO Representative in the Republic of Kazakhstan Skender Syla presented letters of gratitude to volunteers who took an active part in the WHO Global Conference on Primary Health Care.
The participation of MUA volunteers in such events is not the only case, our guys underwent baptism of fire in the most difficult period of the pandemic for the country. Our student Meiram Tolegenov was part of the ambulance team that identified the first case of COVID-19 detection in the capital. About 300 more students were volunteers and worked in the largest crowded places of citizens, at airports, train stations, hospitals and ambulance stations.
During meeting sanctified to the international day of students the results of competition were announced on creative video about life of students in a dormitory. The winners were awarded prizes and gifts. A festive concert was held at the end of the student celebration.
