December 24, 2023 Medical University of Astana, Center for Youth and Sports together with the Chess School CHESSSTAR♟ held a chess tournament among the students of our university and the champions of the chess club. According to the results of the tournament, the national team was formed for participation in the Republican and international competitions.

Chess is a science, sport and art in one game, which brings a lot of joy and pleasure. Playing chess teaches mechanisms, logic of winning. It teaches to reason correctly when choosing the right move in the current game situation, helps to orientate correctly in the assessment of partners. It teaches, winning, not to gloat, and losing, not to despair, to be restrained, cold-blooded, and calm in any tense situation at the chess game.

The competition was held in 8 rounds, according to the Swiss system. Each game had 10 minutes +2sec per move. The most number of points determined the winner. For a long time all the participants of the competition broke their heads over the games, overcoming the excitement, everyone strived to win.
