On March 29, 2024, debates on the topic «Sustainable Development Goals of the Republic of Kazakhstan (SDGs)» took place within the walls of Astana Medical University. The event was organized by the Center for Social and Educational Work in collaboration with the Department of Medical Law and Ethics.
Earlier, a lecture on the topic «Sustainable Development Goals of the Republic of Kazakhstan» was conducted among the university students by Professor Arystanbekov K.T. from the Department of Medical Law and Ethics, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Director of the Institute of Economic Policy. The SDGs consist of 17 interconnected goals, developed in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly as a «Plan to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all». These globally accepted goals are aimed at eradicating poverty, combating inequality and injustice, protecting the planet, and ensuring peace and prosperity for all.
The participants of the debates were first year students of major in «General Medicine», members of the debating club «Esculap», represented by two teams:
Team 1 - Government:

Team 2 - Opposition:
1) Karakat Aidar
2) Sayat Akkalov
During the discussion, various problems were comprehensively discussed, and diverse points of view were presented in accordance with the topic. Each speaker addressed societal and state-level issues effectively.
