The Department of Medical Law and Ethics organized the course "Patient Rights" as part of the summer school, which took place from June 24 to June 28 this year. During 30 hours of intensive training, our participants gained valuable knowledge and skills that will help them effectively protect the rights of patients and minimize legal risks in their professional activities. In the process of mastering this course, the participants of the summer school were able to develop additional skills and competencies such as: legal literacy, the ability to navigate legal acts and norms related to patients' rights, practical skills in obtaining informed consent, the ability to correctly document patient consent, take into account legal and ethical aspects, the ability to minimize legal risks, etc.

The training was carried out using such interactive teaching methods as solving cases and situational problems, using real cases from practice, analyzing legal aspects and developing solution strategies, conducting practical trainings, in particular, completing tasks aimed at developing effective communication skills, documenting and interacting with patients and other participants in the situation, modeling various interaction situations with patients to practice informed consent, conflict resolution, and confidentiality skills. Online meetings were organized with the judge of the SMAS of Astana Amangeldin A.T., acting lawyer Balabaev N.K., to discuss complex legal issues and receive professional recommendations in further professional activities.
