From August 30 to September 2, 2024, London hosted the largest and most significant global congress on cardiovascular diseases—the European Society of Cardiology Congress (ESC2024). This annual event brings together leading experts, researchers, and practicing physicians from around the world, turning London into a hub of cardiological knowledge and innovation.
Astana Medical University is proud to announce that Professor Ayan Suleimenovich Abdrakhmanov, head of the cardiology department, represented Kazakhstan at this prestigious forum. He delivered two presentations that shed light on unique and critical aspects of arrhythmia treatment in pregnant women.
The first presentation, titled "Clinical Characteristics and Zero-Fluoroscopy Ablation Outcomes of Tachyarrhythmias in Pregnant Women: A Single-Center Study," showcased the results of a unique study focused on the ablation of tachyarrhythmias in pregnant women without the use of fluoroscopy. This method, which minimizes radiation exposure to both the mother and the fetus, is becoming increasingly relevant in the rapidly advancing field of arrhythmology. Professor Abdrakhmanov’s presentation sparked great interest and lively discussion among the congress participants, as the proposed approach has the potential to significantly improve the quality of life and outcomes for women facing arrhythmias during pregnancy.
The second presentation, "Clinical Evidence of Pacemaker Implantation During Gestation: A Case Series," featured a series of clinical cases that analyzed the experience of pacemaker implantation in pregnant women.
“Pacemaker implantation during pregnancy is a complex and delicate procedure that requires a high level of professionalism and careful consideration of numerous factors. Our study emphasizes the need for a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach to managing these patients,” said Professor Abdrakhmanov. Both presentations by Professor Abdrakhmanov not only demonstrated the high level of scientific research being conducted in Kazakhstan but also made a significant contribution to the global cardiology community, opening new pathways for improving the health of women worldwide.
Astana Medical University is proud that distinguished scholars like Professor Ayan Suleimenovich Abdrakhmanov represent our institution on the world stage, continuing to strengthen its reputation as a center of advanced medical knowledge and practice.
