On October 31, 2024, the subject Olympiad "Secrets of Medical Microbiology" was held among the 2nd year students of the "Medicine" School, organized by the Department of Microbiology and Virology named after Sh.I. Sarbasova, NJSC "Astana Medical University".

The organizers of the Olympiad: professors of the department, Candidate of Medical Sciences Asemova Gulzhan Dankibekovna, Urekeshov Baktybergen Sadykovich and senior teachers, curators of academic groups, masters of medical Sciences Botbaeva Madina Turlybekovna, Akimbekova Elmira Mukhanmadievna, masters of Biological Sciences Duisebekova Gulbanu Pralievna, Sarsenova Aikerim Grigory-Abatovna.

Jury: MD, Professor Dusmagambetov M.U., Professor Rakhmetova N.B., Professor Asemova G.D., Professor Urekeshev B. S. In addition, the jury included specially invited guests: senior methodologist of the Center for the Transfer of Educational Technologies Utegenova Gulnur Magauyanovna, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Akhmetova Ainur Maratovna, senior lecturer of the Department of Pathological Physiology named after V.I. Korpachev Tokhaeva Maira Bazarbekovna.

The Olympiad was exclusively for 2nd-year students of the School of Medicine, specifically those in groups 241-262. Of these, 15 students were selected who scored the highest scores. 3 groups were formed, each of which had 5 participants. The teams were selected by drawing lots.

The Olympiad in the discipline consisted of three parts.

In the first part of the program there were 30 interactive questions on the section "General microbiology" - morphology and physiology of microorganisms, infection and immunity. The second part included written assignments where students had to solve crossword. The third part contained clinical situational tasks, which the teams answered verbally. The jury members evaluated each stage.

During the Olympiad, the teams tried to comprehensively demonstrate their knowledge of general and specific microbiology. As a result, the SYMBIOSIS team was awarded a diploma of the I degree, the PATHOGEN HUNTERS team received diplomas of the II degree, the MICRO MASTERS team received diplomas of the III
