On December 11, 2024, at 8:00 PM, a psychological training session titled “Self-Assessment” was held at the Student House located at 35 Zhenis Avenue. The event was attended by 32 participants.
Objective of the Training
To develop participants’ ability to assess themselves adequately, recognize the influence of others on their self-perception, and nurture an internal value system.
Goals of the Training
• To provide an understanding of the multifaceted nature of self-perception.
• To help participants identify the factors influencing the formation of self-perception.
• To explore the impact of others on self-attitude.
• To motivate participants to develop self-perception based on personal beliefs and values.
Main Stages of the Training
1. Art Therapy Technique: “Five Positives About Myself”
To facilitate introductions and create a positive emotional atmosphere, participants engaged in an exercise aimed at recognizing their strengths.
• Steps:
Participants traced their hand on paper, writing one positive quality on each finger, and added symbolic illustrations. They then discussed how these qualities help them in life. The exercise fostered an atmosphere of support and confidence.
2. Discussion on “Emotions and Stress”
Participants learned about the types of stress, the impact of emotions on health, and ways to cope with negative emotions. Psychosomatic illnesses and their connection to emotional states were also discussed.
3. Technique: “Self-Exploration”
Participants drew two circles symbolizing the inner world (“Self”) and the external world that influences self-esteem. They discussed how external and internal factors shape self-perception and the individual’s role in this process.
4. Exercise: “Opinions”
Participants took turns naming each other’s best qualities using metaphors. This exercise highlighted the importance of positive feedback from others in shaping self-esteem.
5. Final Reflection: “In the session, I felt…”
Each participant shared their feelings and thoughts by completing the sentence: “Today in the session, I felt….” The group discussed which exercises were most effective for self-discovery.
Participants were actively engaged throughout the training, sharing their experiences and strategies for overcoming stress. The art therapy techniques allowed them to better understand themselves and develop a positive attitude toward their personal qualities.
Many attendees left positive feedback, noting that the training was both useful and inspiring. Participants expressed a strong interest in attending similar events in the future.
