Students of Astana Medical University participated in the International Emergency Medical Aid Olympiad "Safety Zone," which took place from March 18 to 21 at Sechenov University of Life Sciences in Moscow. The event brought together 129 teams from various countries, including Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Sri Lanka, and others.

The team from our university consisted of six students specializing in General Medicine. Over three days, they completed various stages of the Olympiad, ranging from theoretical tasks and clinical case analyses to simulations of resuscitation and emergency scenarios—in the emergency department, onboard an aircraft, in field conditions, and even on a mountainside. The students demonstrated strong knowledge and practical skills while tackling complex tasks such as eFAST diagnostics, tracheal intubation, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, providing assistance to victims in combat conditions, evacuation from hazardous zones, as well as conducting primary examinations and administering aid in an ambulance.

Special attention was given to teamwork, tactical thinking, and decision-making under stress. The Olympiad's structure included captain competitions, theoretical tasks, practical exercises, rescue chain scenarios, emergency department work, and station-based first aid challenges. Thanks to their coordinated actions, high level of theoretical preparation, and practical skills, the team from Astana Medical University confidently advanced through all stages of the Olympiad and ranked among the strongest participants.

Participation in the "Safety Zone" became an invaluable professional experience, allowing students to test their abilities, acquire new knowledge and skills, and represent Kazakhstan on the international stage. The Olympiad reaffirmed the high level of training of our university’s students and their ability to act in the most challenging medical situations.
