On April 8, 2025, the fifth meeting of the health ministers of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was held. Part of the program for this meeting included the signing of memoranda of cooperation in the fields of biosafety, science, and education.

As part of the event, Anar Turmukhambetova, the Rector of Astana Medical University, signed memorandums of understanding with several leading medical institutions from the OTS member states, including:

• Azerbaijan state institute for advanced medical studies named after Aziz Aliyev (Azerbaijan)
• Kyrgyz state medical academy named after I.K. Akhunbaev (Kyrgyzstan)
• Health institute of the Republic of Turkey (Turkey)
• Medical university of Karakalpakstan (Uzbekistan)

The signed agreements aim to strengthen cooperation in the areas of medical education, exchange of experience, advanced training of specialists, and the implementation of joint research projects.
