Astana Medical University hosted a delegation fr om Guangzhou Medical University (China), led by President Zhao Xingcun. The visit marked an important step in developing new formats of international cooperation in the field of medical education and science.

The key event of the visit was the opening of the Guangzhou Medical University Overseas Medical Training Center — the first international simulation center based at Astana Medical University. The Center will be used for experience exchange, joint training sessions and workshops, as well as the training of residents and practicing physicians. It promises to become a successful platform for professional growth and international collaboration.

During the visit, the parties signed a Strategic Partnership Agreement covering academic exchanges, joint research projects, summer schools, and internships.

Rector of Astana Medical University Anar Turmukhambetova described the opening of the center as a landmark event in the university’s history:

“This is the first international simulation classroom we are creating together with Guangzhou Medical University. For us, this is a true first step and the beginning of a new chapter. I congratulate our colleagues on this significant day and am confident that the center will become a place where not only residents but also practicing physicians will study. We are pleased to welcome students from Guangzhou to jointly develop academic mobility, conduct summer schools, and organize joint projects”.

The visit concluded with the international seminar “Medical Education Workshop: How Medical Schools Cultivate Innovative Talents”, wh ere leading experts from Kazakhstan and China exchanged views on modern approaches to medical personnel training.
